Dolls is too rigid to me. He doesn't take Wynonna's word as fact and he makes things complicated for her. Plus there's the blackmail. No thank you! Dolls is a shady character. Right now he's more of a means to an end.

As we've seen, he has a little bit more knowledge than Wynonna when it comes to, as Doc would call it, the"HooDoo VooDoo" But when it comes to the Revenants, he's no Earp. He can;t even use Wyatt's gun as he tried to do already costing Shorty his life.

 What Wynonna knows is innate, in her blood. It helps to have Waverly and Dolls with their book-knowledge, but only the Earp Heir knows instinctively how to act on it. __________________

Dolls didn't even know the Revenants were trapped in Purgatory. Not until Waverly dropped all her research on him. And even if Dolls wasn't around, Wynonna would have Waverly, but a whole lot more questions to answer.
