I kind of agree with that. People ship Geralt with Ciri because they don't realise she was 12 in the books..

Ciri is only suppose to be 12? Wow that's even worse, I thought she was suppose to be 15, either way Freya is 18 so they think she's too old for the role...yeah I have seen some people ship Geralt & Ciri together but they are mainly people who have only watched the show and never read the books or played the games so they're just going by what they interpret in the series. I have never read the books or played the games either but even I understood the nature of their relationship, how they are bounded by destiny to be father & daughter, nothing more. I think some people misinterpreted them being 'destiny' as romantic, but it's not, being each other's 'destiny' doesn't necessarily mean a romantic connection, it can also be a platonic connection and in Geralt & Ciri's case it's father & daughter.

People's problem with Anya's casting seems to be that she's too young, Yennefer is suppose to be over 100 years old but she uses her magic to make herself appear young, people's image of Yennefer comes from her looks in the games, I have seen some pictures & videos from the game and she does look a bit older, like in her 30's, while Anya is only 23 in reality I think. But I heard the games are not canon and the series is based on the books not the games, so I don't think it really matters how the characters look in the games. I think both Anya and Freya are fantastic in their roles.

yeah, Anya is too young but her acting is perfect so it makes up for it.

I think the same

I didn't read the books and I didn't play the games and I think it's better to watch a show without any expectations of how a character should look like.

ok guys I came across this post on Reddit by the showrunner Lauren S Hissrich:

https://www.reddit.com/r/netflixwitc...two_years_ago/

in the post she mentioned about casting Freya as Ciri, since most of Ciri's scenes were filmed during the night time it was hard for them to find a young 12 years old child actress to play her due to strict age restrictions on minors, so they aged up Ciri's character in the show. That makes sense now why they hired an 18 year old actress instead of a minor, I guess Ciri is 18 in the show then

I think it was implied that she has the ability to heal herself, someone on twitter mentioned that in the books there was this one time that Yennefer got fatally wounded while she tried to heal Geralt, I don't know the specific details but if she has the ability to heal others then surely she can heal herself too, and she did heal Jeskier in ep 5 so there's that. And I remember the showrunner hinted that Yennefer had portalled to another place just after the battle.

well that is at the end of the last book. He's dying, she' trying to heal him at the expense of her own life and then it's up to the reader to decide whether the next scene is them in the afterlife together or it actually worked. Ciri's telling the story, and she's kind of ambiguous about it.
