Cryostar, my friend, I'm thinking that Edeyn is also your favorite female character in New Spring. Am I right?

It's not a short series, you'll have to set aside some time.

Khan ... Cadsuane? I never found that character very sympathetic. In the books she's supposed to be a very respected and wise Aes Sedai, but I don't think that we ever learn much about her personally, only through reputation.

From what little I know of her, yes, she would be, unfortunatley, I haven't gotten to read all of the book, nor the whole series. Just a hard time getting into Robert Jordan's style. I'm more of a CS Friedman type.

I think that I like Cadsuane mostly because of the mystery that surrounds her

Yes, she certainly is cloaked in mystery. She's one character that I'd like to know more about.

Bought the first book

And ooops, didn't realize the thread was from 2004. Dead threads smell, after all.

I was handed Towers of Midnight after saying Brandon Sanderson was a fave author of mine, and that'll be the first WoT book for me. Hopefully I won't be too lost

I haven't read it yet, but it is a continuing story, so it might be hard to just jump in. I hope you enjoy it!

I was told it was a bit more like a prequel, but I guess I'll find out when I get to it

Hmm... that's an odd description. There is a prequel, but Jordan wrote that a while back.

Sanderson does seem to be getting things back on track, though.

I think he said it covers how characters met, but maybe he meant another book?
