It'll center more on the Lycans, so unfortunately, I don't think Viktor will have a large roll with it.

The other problem I'm going to have, is that the original underworld was good because it showed a single vampire (selene) fighting their well established system for what she believes. If Rhona Mitra is a similar character, I think it will take away from the original.

I'd still like an explanation for why the second movie was so awful. The first movie was brilliant, sheer genius, and in the second one they seem to have totally lost sight of what was good about the first one. The second one was such mindless clumsy dreck.

^^ The second seemed to also focus more on the 'love' aspect of the Selene and Michael.

I'm hopeful for the third because of it being a prequel, so it will have a lot of story to it.

I just was lurking and was wondering if anyone here is a fan of the old 1960's soap opera, Dark Shadows ?

My mom was a huge fan when she was a kid. She would run home from school to watch it. Then we would watch reruns when I was a small child. I remember Barnabas Collins, played by Jonathan Frid, was the very first vampire I ever saw and he freaked me out.

Then as a teen I would tape the reruns on the Sci-Fi channel and watch it after school.
It was so cheese-tastic and so poorly made but God did I love it.

I wish the Sci-Fi channel still ran the series.

I so shipped Barnabas with Angelique, or Dr. Julia Hoffman.

I also have heard that Johnny Deep and Tim Burton will make it into a film.
That would be so awesome! I wonder what the story would be though. SO many good ones to choose from.

Dukesmom, yeah, that's the one that I was talking about. Have you seen it yet?

Steph, unfortunately, the big screen adaptation of Dark Shadows ran dry due to copy-right issues. It's not being made. As to the series, it's been years, 15+ since I've seen them.

I've never heard of that one Steph, but it looks like it was entertaining.

I haven't heard any recent news about the movie version from Johnny and Tim, but I will definitely keep an eye out for it now!

Based on IMDb.com "Dark Shadows" is listed in Johnny's Filmography as "Announced" and has a release set for 2011.

Hey, more power to them....I wonder if they'll try for the campy feeling again that the old show had, or if they'll try to make a true horror out of it.

I think it should be campy. And I think Depp and Burton can do it just right. I mean their other films have a campy feel.

It wouldn't feel much like Dark Shadows of it wasn't campy.
But even if they do go the horror root I'd see it.

I wonder if Johnny will play Barnabas?

Hrm, I don't know about that. Johnnie just doesn't have that Dark and Ominous feeling about him.

My sister said as much as she likes Johnny she wants an unknown to play Barnabas.

I think Johnny can do it.
I also think the kid from Witness (forgot his name) who was in the movie Brick can play him. I have to get some pics of him from Brick tomorrow. So channeling Barnabas Collins.
