Can anyone name some good vampire books/movies?

Ive read books by Stephanie Meyers. I found a bunch of books on amazon.com like the Anita Blake series, Blue Bloods, Guardian of the night series, The Vampires Kiss, Immortals after Dark series..but i dont know which to look into buying or not.

Also the only vampire movies ive seen are Queen of the Damned, Underworld one and two, and The Lost Boys. I also love Buffy and Blood Ties.

Innocent Blood is good (kinda cheesy but good). Bram Stroker's Dracula is always nice. For a fun movie Van Helsing is there (don't expect a lot though).

Christopher Moore's book "You suck" is a great book to read. Hamilton's Anita Blake is great for the first couple books, I wouldn't read much past it though, for a lot of reasons.

Eep, scary scooby doo!

Did anyone here ever catch Vampire High?

Twilight isn't about vampires, it's about teenagers with sharp teeth.
Vampires don't "sparkle" in the sun: they screech in horror, burst into flame and wither to ash.

I agree with what Cryostar said about Anita Blake, I'm on book 10 I think and the sex really has taken over. A pretty big shame too since I really liked the beginning books and yet I won't stop reading them until she stops writing them. It's a sad cycle. I liked the Stephanie Meyers books as well.

There are several movies reviewed on this thread: Vampire Appreciation Thread #1, though you'll have to search the pages.

Also, several books/series are mentioned. Which reminds me, I think I saw something that indicated You Suck! was a sequel, Cryostar. Did you read its predecessor?

The new Anita Blake books are completely awful, I loved the early ones though, Guilty Pleasures is still my favourite AB book. I didn't like Twilight either, the constant whining about undying love and destiny every over sentence really got on my nerves.

I just bought the first Blood Ties book, hopefully that'll be good, I'm liking the t.v. show so far.

Completely agree Suga. Guilty Pleasures was the best.

Dukesmom, I have not read that book...I didn't even know it existed.

World on Fire, they have support groups for this, you know.

In other vampire news, they're making a sequel to Bram Stroker's Dracula....Monica Bellucci will play Lucy this time around.

I just looked it up, Bloodsucking Fiends: A Love Story was published in 2004. From the description of it and You Suck: A Love Story, they are about the same characters. Also from the descriptions of these and other books by Christopher Moore, he's got a weird sense of humor. My kind of author.

I can tell you, he has a very odd sense of humor....and it's quite enjoyable. I'd recommend all his books, even the non-vampire ones if you have the chance.

True Blood. Isn't it a new show for next season or something? I've seen Blood Ties.

True Blood is the upcoming HBO series based on the Charlaine Harris Southern Vampire series. Anna Paquin is set to star as the lead, Sookie Stackhouse. Alan Ball, of Six Feet Under, is the executive producer and, according to imdb.com, will write and direct as well.
