Twilight isn't about vampires, it's about teenagers with sharp teeth.
Vampires don't "sparkle" in the sun: they screech in horror, burst into flame and wither to ash.

Have you tried a library? The one in my town has copies of all three books, although availability seems to be an issue.

The nearest library is 50 minutes away...lol

So no...

I'd rather buy the books so I can read them on my own time you know.

How about book swapping? I've heard about it but never tried it. When I did a quick Google search, I found several sites.

BTW - I'm on the 5th book in the Anita Blake series and it's the last one I had purchased.

I've book swapped with people. But I don't know of anyone that has read the Stephanie Meyer series, willing to swap. Because they are so popular, most don't want to part with the book.

But I do check out a lot of the second hand stores and have found some good reads.

The thing with the library also is that, buy the time I return the books, I have so many late fees charged, I'm better off buying to begin with you know!

I just watched the first episode of True Blood - I liked how Vampires have been accepted into normal life for everyone in the world. They are real and they just want to be treated like every one else.

I thought True Blood wasn't coming out until Fall?

I am almost through with Bloody Bones (Anita Blake #5). I'm also still working on Many Bloody Returns: Tales of Birthday's with Bite. I thought I would get at least one finished on my recent trip, but no. I napped a little too much on the plane.

It became available through alternate sources. Initial thoughts are that it's a neat premise. I'm not sure I like Anna Paquin in it though. Something about her character just rubs me wrong. It'll have it's niche, not sure it caught me though.

Hehehe, naps are good.

Okay, so I finally bought Twilight and New Moon in soft cover, as the hard cover were to bloody expensive. Eclipse isn't in soft cover yet.

I haven't started reading yet as I want to finish the last few chapters of my Harry Potter book first.

I will let you know what I think!

I finished Bloody Bones last night, or rather, early this morning. As soon as I finish Many Bloody Returns: Tales of Birthday's with Bite, I will finally get to Small Favor. Not sure how much vampire activity there will be in SF but odds are there will be some.

eta: The Lost Boys 2: The Tribe is being released directly to DVD on July 29th. Here's the synopsis I found at netflix.com:
Quote:
After their parents die in a car accident, Chris Emerson (Tad Hilgenbrink) and his sister, Nicole (Autumn Reeser), move in with their quirky Aunt Jillian in her California beach town. Soon Nicole falls for a local surfer, who, unbeknownst to her, is also a vampire. Now Chris finds himself battling the whole gang of vampire surfers in an effort to rescue his sister. Corey Feldman and Corey Haim co-star in this sequel to 1987's Lost Boys.
Other actors include Jamison Newlander (reprising his role as Alan Frog) and Angus Sutherland (half-brother of Kiefer).

I will have to keep my eyes open for that release.

Were you surprised by the ending of the pilot of True Blood too Jerry? the show also had a lot of course language. I am not just speaking of the 4 letter F word but of the 4 letter C word that is said in it a few times too...

It hasn't aired. Some people used alternate means to watch it. BTW - there is a separate thread for True Blood here: True Blood Appreciation #1: Based on the books by Charlaine Harris, soon on HBO!
