| Over the weekend I decided to watch a couple of movies online through Netflix. For whatever reason I was in the mood for horror so I looked through the list available and then checked out what imdb.com had to say about various movies (just to get a second opinion) but somehow managed to watch the wrong thing. So, instead of watching a vampire movie called Blood Sisters, I watched a stupid college girls in a "haunted house" movie called Blood Sisters.  I also watched Night Fangs which wasn't good, but at least it was different. Instead of emulating Count Dracula, the vampire wannabes were trying to copy Countess Bathory. | |||

| I remember seeing a promo for Stay Alive a long time ago but never realized it had to do with Bathory. There was a special on History channel, IIRC, that talked about vampires and according to it Countess Bathory was closer to what we consider a vampire than the real Count Dracula. | |||

| Elite Fan | It was loosely based on her.....very loosely, but they still claimed it to be her. I would agree with that. She's also listed as the biggest female serial killer, with a body count of 600+. Those were mostly young women from her staff and the countryside around her. Eventually, she slipped up when she started inviting aristocratic young women in to her house for "training" only to have them meet up with accidents. Her last days were spent walled into a tower of her own castle...denied the blood she so desperately craved. | Maila Nurmi, TV's Vampira, dies at 85 - Yahoo! News Also, apparently there is a Las Vegas show at the Stratosphere Hotel called Bite that features "vampires." It's adults only so no one under 18. It seems to be a fairly inexpensive show by Vegas standards - only $45.95. | |||
