The problem is, that prolouge is going to be what the entire third movie is about.

I'm interested in seeing the sequel though, and the third one as well. Don't get me wrong.

I agree, a LOTR rip off isn't a bad thing as long as it's a good movie, there are a lot of worse things they could've copied than LOTR.

If anyone is interested in how a cop show handles the vampire theme, Third Watch has a vampire storyline running tomorrow (9pm EST 2005-02-25). Here is the relevant description from nbc.com:
