Twilight isn't about vampires, it's about teenagers with sharp teeth.
Vampires don't "sparkle" in the sun: they screech in horror, burst into flame and wither to ash.

I guess it is appropriate to start over with what is probably the first vampire movie ever made:

Nosferatu: Silent film released in 1922. B&W, or, more accurately, IMO, sepia & white and occasionally bluish & white. Same vampire story that has been filmed over and over based on Bram Stoker’s Dracula, only the director changed the names and locations because he did not have permission to use the story. Anyway, it was kind of creepy and the lack of special effects did not bother me - the bizarre carriage ride through the white forest was kind of cool. Also, there were definite moments of overacting which may be attributable to the era and lack of dialogue. All in all, more an interesting experience than a "great" movie - whatever that means.

I saw a DVD movie of Nosferatu, its certainly different than what we would see today. This creature was ugly. I have seen Bela Lugosi's portrayal of Dracula when AMC used to show the old movies.

Its interesting how each generation does it differently. When they were doing the most famous villians of all time, Dracula was near the top.

the way the portrayed vampires in the movie Underworld i thought was awesome. it wasn't like any other vampire movie i've ever seen, it dealt more with science between werewolf and vampire.

I'm familiar with Vampire: The Masquerade, White Wolf's Vampire gaming system, as well. It features a particularly complicated vampire social structure, with so many different sects/clans/factions. The Nosferatu are just one of what, 13 clans?

I've played the two PC games written for this system so far - I finished the first, and I'm still working on Bloodlines whenever I can find the time. My current Bloodlines character is a Tremere (basically the vampire mage class).

The movie Underwold also reminded me quite a lot of The Masquerade take on vampire society.

13 sounds about right....I always played the Malkavians...something about playing an insane vampire.

I loved Underworld...but it's a given, it has Kate in it.

I never heard of it either.

The last vampire movie i saw was From Dusk till Dawn. That movie kicked ass.

Unless I am mistaken, you are talking about the movie about the making of the silent film, Nosferatu, starring John Malkovich and Willem Dafoe. Here is the imdb.com page: http://imdb.com/title/tt0189998/ I am confused by the imdb’s genre labeling – I do not recall it being particularly comedic, but it has been awhile since I have seen it and have watched many vampire flicks in that time. Once upon a time, I had a mini-review about it on this board.

I have seen all of the From Dusk til Dawn movies (unless they have released a fourth one when I was not looking). For the most part, I enjoyed them for what they are - translation: guilty pleasure, not necessarily something I would recommend to anyone unless I knew their tastes specifically run this way.

It was quite well made, I really felt by the end of the film that Nosferatu was a real Vampire. (Think Blair-Witch twist at the end.)

Na.....just feel no love for it....plus it's John Malkovich...I'm really iffy on him as it is....I either love him or hate him in his roles.
