"V"... the new (remade) sci-fi show on ABC.

So... does anybody remember the show from the mid-eighties? I do! I liked it then. I "might" like it now. It just premiered tonight. We will see. It definately looks better with the newer special effects... BUT... will they stick to the story lines of yesteryear or perhaps will it be a new spin?

What's you're take on it?

On a personal note... I hope that they get cameos of Robert England and Marc Singer in the show!

I remember the original quite well. I was in my late teens to early 20's when it was on the air. I promise to try and not spoil it for anyone that may not have seen the original. Like I said... I wonder as to if they are going to be rehashing from the original's story lines or if perhaps steer away from them. We'll see.

So I watched it last night and it was kick-a$$!

Those V's- I don't trust them for one minute!

It's so cool to see Joel Gretch on another sci-fi series. I've been a fan of his since 2002 when he played Owen Crawford on "Taken" and then again in 2004 as Tom Baldwin on "The 4400". And I think it's awesome how another "4400" alum is apart of this show, I'm talking about Scott Peters.

There's certainly a lot of great actors on this series like Elizabeth Mitchell (fan of hers as Dr. Legaspi on ER and the of course those Santa Claus movies) and then I can leave out Laura Vandervoort! Definately one of the coolest Supergirl's ever! Oh and of course Alan Tudyk (fan of his from Into the West and Serenity).

Back to the show-

It had me on the edge of my seat. I just knew those V's couldn't be trusted. The second they said that they wanted fuel and resources in exchange for technology and knowledge I knew there had to be a catch.

Never would have guessed that Dale, Erica's partner was one of the V's.

I do look forward to seeing Joel and Elizabeth's character relationship continue even if it's just a friendship.

I don't know what else to say, I was truly blown away! You know these stories can be told a thousand different ways- aliens coming and pretending to be nice but turning out to be the bad guys and then leading followers and creating cults- but they never get old.

Way to go ABC Network!

I'm hooked!

(Oh, and I've never seen the original just FYI )

I thought it was AWESOME!

I like the V's I think some of them are bad, and some of them are good.. just like humans...

Can't wait to see more of it.

^- I think you're right on that.

I think Anna is a bad V. I mean for her to tell that reporter not to paint them in a negative light- I thought that was wrong. The point of journalism is to show all sides not just one.

I think Laura's character is a good V.

I too thought that it was great to see Joel in a new series! (drool)

It took me a bit to recognize the face of Dale. I thought and thought and then I remembered what I saw him in. He played Steve the pirate in the Ben Stiller movie about volleyball.

I agree with that and I love the show very much. It was very unique well as unique as something can get that reminds me of Earth: Final Conflict can get.

I got a sense of that too about E:FC. However, being that this is a remake of an 80's show and E:FC aired in the 90's... it makes me think that Roddenberry jacked the idea for E:FC from "V". lol

Wow those are aweome ratings!

LOL I've got my ships going too.

Lisa and Tyler seem like they would be awesome together.

And though he's a priest, I want Jack and Erica to develop some form of relationship even if it's a very tight friendship.

This is why I couldn't find a thread for this show on the Television Board

So, watched the Pilot yestarday and it wwas really, really good. It already set the tone for the first few episodes and it lays the foundations for the show. I liked it.

The characters are also very interesting, showing different sides and layers. I'm really intrigueded with Erica and Father Jack relationship
