I've wondered if the storylines being centered on events in American history might limit the audience a bit.

Fair enough. I enjoy the show, but have been somewhat familiar with the events covered so far and found it nice to learn a bit more,, even if it's fictionalized. Did that made sense?

I like that they have changed the present by their actions in the past.

I've watched a few more episodes now. I get what you'r saying about the American history part of it Chris. I hope it will branch out to more world history at some point to keep my interest going. I did enjoy seeing Sean Maguire as Ian Fleming though. That episode being set in the second world war was a subject more familiar to me too, which helped.

I do wonder how they will correct all the changes to the timeline.

I'm sure that there have been changes that they're not even aware they made.

Hm, I don't think "american", or better "United States" history will limit or has limited the audience.

First of all, only US ratings matter if it comes to renewal, so that's good only having featured US history. International sales count, too, but are secondary in this case. Nonetheless it is, was, or will be on Netflix, Amazon, or broadcast TV in several countries, lots of them in Europe, and what I heard until today is mostly positive. So it's safe to say that people are interested in the stories the show tells.

Second of all, there's a reason why I corrected "american" into "United States" and put it in "...": it mostly happens in the US, but it's not solely US history. The Hindenburg and the WWII episode are also German history, and the latter with Ian Fleming part British, we have The Alamo with Mexicans, the French and Indian War, the War of Independence including the British, the Paris episode and Russian spies. Many different people can relate to different episodes.

I think so too. I also think they should only show so many changes as are necessary for the stories they want to tell. Everything else is a complete overload. In the first place, it's a show about history and the people on the team. For me, the whole time travel thing is just a vehicle to get us to different time periods and, in parts, to develope the characters.
