I read it somewhere that time travel apart from a few years here or there is impossible because of bacteria and viruses:

Travel back and take your natural bioflora inside you-past generations are not immune to it and you will wipe out all civilization before you know it.

Travel forward and you are not immune to future micro-organisms-you die.

hmm ... that actually makes sense to me. Especially when something similar happened when Europeans introduced diseases like smallpox to the Americas and Australia.

If I went back in time, I'd really miss the lack of technology. If I went forward, I probably wouldn't be able to make anything work.

Oh. There would be a death of someone I'd like to stop, but if I did, my life would probably be entirely different, I would be elsewhere, I would be someone else, I would have taken a different path, I would not have these three amazing children I have. So when it comes right down to it, I probably wouldn't change anything.

Even the painful things shape the person we become. Makes me think of TNG: Tapestry where Q lets Jean-Luc go back in time and walk away from a fight as a young cadet, which leads to him never standing up for anything, and never becoming a captain.
