I have been collecting my favorite time travel movies. Some of the favorites are "Time Cop" the one with Jean-Claude van Damme. "Frequency" and "Timeshiffters" Would like to hear of others favorites.

The original Time Machine, Back to the Future trilogy...I know many more, but these are the few I can think of atm...brain-freeze.

There are also tv shows worthy of this list.

Odyssy 5, Doctor Who, Sliders (although, it is alternate dimensions trechnically, but sometimes that Earth is hundreds of years more or less advanced even though it is the same year as present so interesting watching regardless) Also, there are more shows too...but the brain is still frozen!

DS9 Trials and Tribblations was a great time travel episode.

That is literally the ONLY DS9 episode that I can endure watching, for that was a horrible show. *summons sum1*

Moviewise ... how about Twelve Monkeys, Planet of the Apes and the Terminator movies?

Most sci-fi TV series dabble in time travel some point ... SG-1 had 1969, Babylon 5 had Babylon Squared and War Without End, Farscape had Different Destinations, Star Trek had loads but some noteworthy ones included ToS City on the Edge of Forever and ST IV: The Voyage Home, TNG All Good Things and ST: First Contact.

I found everything season 4 and after pretty good for DS9.

Movie wise...no one's mentioned Butterfly Effect or the Sound of Thunder.

Back to the Future has to be the best one hands-down espec since that JAWs effect was pretty cool for the 80's.

Back to the Future 2 that was... It was the best of those 3 for-sure!

I liked the original, but was somewhat burnt out by the end of the series....just couldn't do it anymore.

What about Army of Darkness?

here are some not mentioned yet...

*Time After Time (1979) - H.G. Wells(played by Malcolm McDowell) travels through time to track Jack the Ripper

*Somewhere in Time (1980)- it's been a looong time since I've seen this but it is considered a bit of a cult classic for romance buffs. No time machine. Travel is through self hypnosis.

*Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure---OK, really lame movie but you gotta admit a telephone booth time machine is kinda cool.


Tv series...

*Girl From Tomorrow (1991)-- there were several mini-series but the first one was the best. Another smart Aussie export.

*You probably won't find this anywhere as it is not on DVD....but I have fond memories of a series called Voyagers! (1982). It featured a time travelling man & kid who visited historical events. I can still remember the episode they met Thomas Edison and how they helped him invent a lightbulb. Sadly, the series only ran one year.

...and don't forget Quantum Leap. What an awesome show...and one of the few SF concepts that had a good run on network TV.

Actually, I liked both Bill and Ted movies, I thought they were fun when I was younger.

I loved Quantum Leap. And there's an example of a good sci-fi premise that didn't require a lot of expensive special effects.

I remember that one! Quite enjoyed it.

There was 'Timeline' based on the Michael Crichton novel. Fits the category, but I wouldn't particularly recommend it.
