Apparently these are drawings of new uniforms for IR, that I came across from a great Thunderbirds site at virgin.net.

Slightly related news from the BBC Cult times.

Quote:

Gerry Anderson, who is producing a computer generated series of Captain Scarlet, says he is unlikely to return to working with puppets.

Talking to Radio 4's Today programme, Anderson said, "It was difficult to make them look convincingly at each other when they turned.

"It is now possible to recreate them exactly as they were in the original series but they will now behave just like human beings," he said.

"They will have expressions, the mouths operate in the same way as we speak, they will be able to run, hop, skip and jump - you know the whole thing will come to life."

But the move to computer generated animation has dismayed Martin Gainsford of the Fanderson Official Gerry Anderson Appreciation Society.

"There's something about the small animated characters, they jerk a bit and occasionally you see a wire or two, but you don't mind," he said.

"It's like having an absolutely perfect baby, you don't mind that a kid is a little bit chubby or has got a bit of a squint, they have got a bit of character to them.

"There is something there that gives you something to connect with and it makes you think how much spirit and soul can someone tapping away on a computer keyboard put into a CGI character."

The new 26-part Captain Scarlet series is expected to be screened sometime in 2005.

MINOR SPOILERS Thunderbirds movie updates: Filming is currently taking place on the opening oil rig rescue – the sequence features both Thunderbird 1 and 2, Cliveden in Buckinghamshire is being used as the exterior location for Lady Penelope’s stately home, The Hood uses the Mole to burrow into Tracy Island, Wellington College in Berkshire is being used as Alan’s American school Wharton Academy, FAB1 is a Ford (which can fly!), and Universal wants to get a teaser trailer for the film ready for the release of The Hulk – it will feature Thunderbird 1 flying past The Houses of Parliament and landing in Parliament Square.

THUNDERBIRDS teaser trailer description!
Harry here.... Hmmmm, trailer sounds a tad on the cheesy side, but since they seem to be aiming for High Camp with THUNDERBIRDS, that might work for them. I just want to see that big ol Thunderbird ship land. Hmmmm... Here ya go...
Hi Harry

Max Caddyshack here. Saw a preview of The Hulk, a month before it comes out in the UK. Just want to say, how great the film was. I was blown away by the comic book panel inspired editing, the fight against the mutant dogs (reminded me of Kong vs T-Rex), the fight with the tanks and helicopters and the Hulk leaping from peak to peak. Anyway, could go on, but the film wll sell itself. Ang Lee is a genius and ILM are well and truly back.

What really surprised me as well, was before the film, we saw the teaser for Thunderbirds. On scren we see in Hulk font "Its huge", then"Its Green", then out of nowhere the main Thunderbirds ship comes out of the sky and lands outside Parliament Square, in front of the Houses of Parliament. This was done over Thin Lizzy's "Boys are back in town", then said coming next summer.

What was unusal was the cheering from the crowd, this doesn't happen as often for films/trailersK than in the US. Jonanthan Frakes looks like he's onto a winner here. The ship looked exactly as I remembered it and seeing it land outside such a well known London landmark did not look cheesy at all.

Respect as always from the UK massive.

*MH* and welcome. Wayhey another Thunderbirds fan.
We are a rare breed here at FF But I am convinced that is all going to change with the release of the film. Even though they are going more for a 'Spy Kids' kind of film instead of a 'cool-cat-mod-sixties-feel-to-it-adult-sci-fi' type of film which I would have prefered. But I have faith that it will at least be alot of fun.

This is so cool! I can't wait to tell my Brother's!! They loved that show, & I think John(oldest Brother) has one of the model cars, from that movie, & possibility a spaceship too. I watched it, in re-runs, as a kid, but I really never stuck with me,I couldn't get into the "puppets", but agian, this was the 60's right! Anyways, Yeah,I think a "real" version, should be excellant to watch eh! O.K. I'll sneak in here later on, to find out more scoops, Oh! Also, sorry to ask, on a wrong thread in all, But where is the info, on Mad Max,& Pitch Black 2,( I really hope Vin Deisels in that one agian!! ) O.K. Outa here, talk to you later!
