Supernatural

Supernatural
Starring Jared Padalecki (Gilmore Girls) & Jensen Ackles (Smallville).
Coming this Fall to The WB Tuesday Nights.

Quote:

The WB has a rich tradition of interweaving character dramas and the world of the supernatural. It began with Buffy The Vampire Slayer and continues today with hits like Smallville and Charmed.

This fall, The WB will usher in a new generation of storytelling set in the dark world of the unexplained. Filmmakers McG (Charlie's Angels, The OC), Eric Kripke (Boogeyman), and Midas' touch director David Nutter are teamed to take audiences on the next WB thrill ride.

Gilmore Girls' breakout star Jared Padalecki and Smallville's Jensen Ackles are Sam and Dean Winchester; two young brothers bound by tragedy and blood to a dangerous, "other-worldly" mission. Crisscrossing the country in their '69 Chevy Impala, they carry on their missing father's quest to seek out and silence the supernatural forces responsible for their mother's murder twenty years ago.

A Warner Bros. Television Production Inc., in association with Wonderland Sound and Vision. From executive producers McG and Peter Johnson with writer/executive producer Eric Kripke and director/executive producer David Nutter (Without a Trace, Smallville, Band of Brothers, The West Wing, ER, The X Files).

I wonder of this thing.....At one point, it interests me, then at another...it's the WB....which worries me.

Yeah ... at first I wasn't too keen on it. I was like ... it'll get cancelled. But, I don't know ... I feel like I have to watch the 'Pilot' in order to make a decision, because I am somewhat intrigued.

At least it is on the WB and not on FOX, therefore it WILL get a chance before its inevitably short run and predictable cancellation on the WB. Unlike on FOX where they give not two-hoots about any show even ones that have a tiniest bit of potential. The following are but a few of my personal favourite tv programmes that have been cancelled on FOX in the last few years. Dark Angel, Point Pleasant, Firefly, Wonderfalls...etc The WB do no such things. They see potential in a programme and they give it a shadow of a doubt, just look at: Charmed, Buffy, the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Smallville...etc btw, I am looking-forward to Supernatural. hehehe It is such a pity that is was cancelled after so few episodes aired...

I like the concept. I've always thought it would be cool to travel the country and study the supernatural, like ghosts and hauntings and such. So I'll tune into the pilot if I can.

I like Jensen Ackles. Don't care for Jared Padalecki at all, but I might be able to ignore him if the show itself is good.

I like the concept, too. But, we'll see if they pull it off. If there isn't a continual arch - and it's more FOTW based, then I'm leaving it.

They should have paired it with Smallville instead of Gilmore Girls.

Actually, I think this kind of show may work well with single episodes. There are so many types of supernatural stories out there to use. I'm sure there will be some type of arc, but single episodes - I'm thinking like The X-Files - would be fine, IMHO.

I do think they should've paired it with SV....my guess is they put it on after Gilmore Girls because of Padalecki.

Probably. Like they did with OTH for CMM.

Yeah, if it has an X-Files way of telling the story, then I could definetly get into that.

There's a distinct lack of decent supernatural shows on right now...maybe it's time to fill that niche.

This is true ... but will this WB show be the start of it?

Doubtful.

They'll try and play up the teen aspect of it more than the supernatural....I betcha they do.

That seems likely. It's a shame, though.

I think there's a possiblity it could be decent. Buffy was fantastic for a few years IMO, and it had the "teen aspect". I think Smallville started out very well, and it also had the "Teen aspect".

But I wish they'd casted someone other than Padalecki. That's a strike against it for me right there.

I can't really judge it til I've seen it. So, I'll hold back til I've seen the Pilot.

Although, I have to say ... I don't mind Padalecki in this show.

Nice pic!

I'm looking forward to giving this show a try. It looks like it could be interesting.
