I'm watching the Season Eight finale, which I take was originally set as a series finale?

I adore geeky Daniel and Sam, they are so cute!

The previous episode was really good, especially for Jack/Sam stuff. Poor Claire Carey always plays the other woman.

I was sad to see Jacob go, but I liked that he used his last days to help push Sam towards Jack and that Jack's girlfriend did the same thing.

I read someplace that most of the season finales were set as series finales b/c the cast and crew didn't know if they were coming back for the next season.

Well and the reason I ask is because I was watching a TV-rip from SkyOne's network and it said "We not continue with the SG-1 series finale" so I just assumed they were going to end it and then had to re-vamp the show when it was renewed.

I enjoyed the finale, lots of little quirks and stuff for the fans. I cracked up when AlternateJack came onto AlternateSam and she confessed he wasn't the type she usually attracted and that she was into Daniel. That was hilarious.

I also loved the Jack/Sam kiss in the PuddleJumper from SGA and how she was all "I can fix this" when something fizzled. Too cute!

So in the ending, was it supposed to be vague on Sam/Jack being together? They didn't specify that they were discussing the fishing trip like they did in the other timeline.

They went fishing, which we all know means they're together.

You remember Jack saying there were no fish in his pond? Well, at the end:

S.G.C. In Sam's lab, General Jack O'Neill, Lieutenant Colonel Samantha Carter, Doctor Daniel Jackson and Teal'c (with hair) are watching a screen showing the video recording from five thousand years ago. Jack is sitting at the desk while the others stand behind him. Next to Jack, nestled inside a wooden box on top of a lot of padding, is a glowing Z.P.M. On the desk next to the box is a half-eaten donut on a paper napkin.

JACKSON (on the screen): Uh, Jack, you should say something here.

O'NEILL (on the screen): Um, college football is played on Saturdays; pro on Sundays; and there are no fish in my pond ... at all ... where I fish. (He turns to the other two.) Uh, I think that covers it for me.

(In the lab, Daniel turns the video off. Sam looks at Jack.)

CARTER: Is that correct?

O'NEILL: If it is, we don't do anything?

CARTER: Apparently nothing we did affected the timeline.

O'NEILL: But we didn't do anything.

CARTER: Not yet. Apparently we were going to, two weeks from now, but now we don't have to.

O'NEILL: Excellent! (Daniel and Teal'c nod to each other and walk away.) That's it! I like it!

(Sam reaches for the Z.P.M. box.)

CARTER: OK, I'm gonna get this up to the lab for analysis.

O'NEILL: No! I'll take it. (He picks up the box.) There's a whole room full of geeks up there just dyin' to get their hands on this. You've got packin' to do! (He walks away as Sam smiles.)

MINNESOTA. Jack's cabin. A fishing line arcs out into the water. The camera lifts up from the water and we see that Jack and Sam are sitting side by side on the pier, fishing.

CARTER: This is great.

O'NEILL: I told ya!

CARTER: I can't believe we didn't do it years ago.

O'NEILL: Yes, well, let's not dwell.

(Sam giggles as she looks at him. Behind them, Daniel and Teal'c arrive, carrying a cooler box between them and each holding a folding chair in their free hand. Out in the pond, a fish jumps out of the water. Sam looks round at Jack.)

CARTER: Didn't that tape say there were no fish in your pond?

(Jack looks at her.)

O'NEILL: Close enough.

(Sam nods. The camera pulls back as Daniel and Teal'c unfold their chairs. Teal'c sits down, and Daniel walks onto the pier to join the other two.)

The end!

See this is what led me to confusion on that end, were they together, were hey just friends, who knows?

I'm finishing up SGA's first season right now then I plan to dive into SG-1's ninth season.

I loved seeing Rodney show up again in the SG-1 finale, that was fun, as was his "message" to her over on SGA in the video they sent to Earth. I get cracked up at his lust fo Sam.

I noticed another BSG actor in the finale, the guy who plays Gaeta had a decent sized role in both parts of the finale.

All the season finales were written so that they could also function as series finales throughout the whole run of the show EXCEPT season ten. Which was the season that got cancelled. Go figure.

I still don't think there has been actual confirmation of Jack and Sam being together but there has been little teasing things that makes it seem like they just might be. I don't know if anything was mentioned during her stint on Atlantis though. I'm going with yes, yes they are.

Yep I'm on the forth episode of Season Nine right now, loving Ben!

I also loved how RDA showed up at the end of the third episode, that was kinda cute.
