I love those episodes as well and like you, I love how they connected. I will admit to being a bit worried that they were indeed going to open the gate to the Aschen when they returned.

That would be an interesting concept for a future movie.

Jack cracks me up so much. The Aschen were creepy, and the cabin scene with Sam and Jack is really sad. It makes you wonder what really happened all those years. Did they try to give their relationship a go, and then his distrust of the Aschen ruin it? I think Jack says something about how she was the one to go away, but I can't remember exactly what it was.

He seemed none to pleased with Sam's husband so I always took it to be a jealousy thing.

Yeah but I don't think that Sam would have stayed with Joe whatever happened - she didn't seem to be completely happy with him.

Did you notice how several alternate versions of Sam always ended up with guys other than Jack? I always hated that.
