I won't kill you WyldIce, because I feel kind of the same way. I can enjoy some couples on the show but it's not why I watch the show and I have an aversion to any boss/subordinate romantic entanglements on all shows (just one of the reasons I was never a fan of Gil/Sara on CSI).

As for Continuum, I have it but haven't watched it due to some unexpected home repairs recently. Hopefully I'll have all my boxes unpacked again this weekend and will be able to watch.

I am not a Sam/Jack shipper either. Although it was kind of cute I'm glad it was not a major part of the show. As far as romance for Sam I actually wanted more of the Sam/Martuf (sp?) relationship and also Sam and Orlin (the adult version). I didn't really care for her 3 other romantic ventures - Pete, the ambassador or the smart guy with Schrodinger the cat.

I grew up in the military also (Army Brat) but I don't really agree that it wouldn't happen. As much as I would have LOVED it if Sam/Jack got together during the series, I wouldn't have loved it so much if they were both still in the military and under the same command. (Okay, maybe I would but it would be against my will.

) I think it would go against who both those characters are. I do like the fact that they both acknowledge that they have feelings for each other but because they are officers in the military they know that as long as they both are in the military then it can't go anywhere.

No lynching from me either. I'm a S/J shipper, but I'm glad they waited to start a relationship until after Jack had left the SGC. There are good reasons for the regs (my dad was military so we've had discussions). It's just that now they are presumably not in the same direct chain of command and he's close to retiring, there doesn't seem to be a problem. TPTB have given enough hints. It would just be nice to know that after doing and giving so much to save the world time and time again, that they both get the "happy ending" they deserve.

They did eventually get together? Was it offscreen or something? That would suck.

Personally I'm a sucker for "forbidden love" and perhaps that's half of why I like them so much.

Sam is dating a General in Washington and people assumed it was Jack - then it was confirmed by AT in the dvd exras of Atlantis I believe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

That was said during season 4 of Atlantis, but the scene was cut for time. It was confirmed by Amanda and Joe Mallozi, and Joe has said that for the third movie he wants

It's very confusing, but I think they are either out of the same chain of command or they will have to be granted an exception from the president.

I actually hated Sam/Martouf. Not just because I ship S/J, but it seemed creepy to me that she carried the Tokra that he was in love with, and I don't think he could seperate the two in his mind. To me it was more that Martouf was desperate for any connection to Jolinar, and transfered his desire for that to Sam.

Awww see I'm a bit dissapointed. I wanted to more or less see them finally get together, hopefully the third movie might have a flashback to how it all happened or something similar.

Me too! For example - evil Vampire falls in love with Vampire Slayer or... Human falls for Sparkly bloodsucker and then with Jack and Sam you have the fact that it's illegal for them to be together.

Oh and I totally wouldn't mind them getting together at any point career or no career.

I just want my Jack/Sam-ness.

I found Martouf a little creepy, but he grew on me as time passed. As for the Jack/Samness...I'm a shipper. That's the only reason I watch TV.

I want them together, even if it's a brief scene w/ a Big Honkin' Kiss. That's all I ask. Then we can get back to the story.

It's not the only reason I watch, but Jack/Sam is probably the thing I love the most about it.
