Adria is on the side of the Ori. I think she's officially introduced in season 10. Although I guess you could say that she was sort of introduced towards the end of season 9.

Col. O'Neill: Even so, I'm sorry.

GRRR! I'm so annoyed! I'd just written the longest post!

At the moment I've been posting my thoughts on each episode as I watch them on my LJ - I thought I could do the same here!

Pretty much as soon as Dad got home we watched started watching from the beginning. We saw 'Children of the Gods' and 'The Enemy Within'.

I hadn't remembered how... sassy Sam was to Jack when they first met! I LOVED it! You could tell he was impressed with how she stood up for herself. I loved the quote "Oh I adore you already" - he was being sarcastic, but I think he really meant it

Woah to Sha're being completely naked! I must have seen a cut for television version before because none of us were expecting it.

Another great episode!

Sam: So you thing this new anesthesia will be a new miracle drug on Earth?
Daniel: Well if it is, I bet somebody else will get the credit. We can never say were it came from.
Jack: Damn. Guess I'm going to have to cancel that Oprah interview.
Teal'c: What is an Oprah?

Teal'c is always so adorable in his ignorance.

The Broca Divide

I got all excited when I saw this episode title - there is so much Sam/Jack fan fiction that brings up this episode. I already had quite a good memory of it from seeing it years ago, but it was nice to watch it again.

Daniel: Wow, what happened to you?
Jack: Oh, I - got in a little wrestling match with Carter.
Daniel: Why?
Jack: I guess she's got whatever Johnson's got. Had to drag her off to the infirmary.
Daniel: What, did she start a fight with you, like Johnson did with Teal'c?
Jack: No, she, uh - tried to seduce me.
Daniel: Oh. *sarcasm* You... poor man.

I don't know how they didn't all crack up when they were all acting as though they were Neanderthals - I personally laughed my head off a bunch of times - particularly when General Hammond was shown into Jack's cell with a furry forehead and when Daniel was jumping up and down holding a bone near the end.

Jack: Daniel! You dog! Keep this up, you'll have a girl on every planet.

I enjoyed seeing Doc Frasier finally in this episode! I was wondering when she was going to pop up!

Oh! And I almost forgot how much I love this quote:

Jack: Lucy, I'm ho-ome!
Teal'c: I am not Lucy.
Jack: I know that. It's a reference to an old TV - (stops, realizing it'll take too long to explain) Never mind. Open the door.
Teal'c: I will summon the doctor.
Jack: No, come on. I'm fine. I'm back to being myself. Just open up.
Teal'c: I cannot be certain that you are back to being yourself. You referred to me as 'Lucy.'
Jack: Oh, for crying out loud, will you just open the door?

Also, how did I not notice how often Jack says "for crying out loud"? I counted 3 in this episode alone!

SG-1 first started out on Showtime so they could do stuff like that. I always forget too though because I think of SG-1 as a Scifi channel based show.

I'm not a huge fan of the whole Sha're storyline. I think the thing that annoyed me the most about the first couple of seasons was Daniel telling anyone and everyone that would listen that he lost a wife, etc. I mean I knew that it had to be there but it's not like they invested you in the Daniel/Sha're relationship so I could care less.

Yea, I actually was not into Daniel/Share either. I really like Daniel/Vala, and could even see Daniel/Janet, although I find it funny that they are married in real life.

I liked the SG-1 Daniel/Sha're story as an extension of the original movie better than the one presented in the books that were tied to the movie and had nothing to do with the television series.

Also, I think vball2003_1999 has the base doctors confused. Michael Shanks (Daniel) is married to Lexa Doig (Dr. Carolyn Lam), not Teryl Rothery (Dr. Janet Frasier). Also, at one time he was dating Vaitiare Bandera (Sha're) and they have a daughter together.

BTW - I have never had Showtime and was introduced to the series in syndication so was also surprised by the nudity the first time I saw the complete pilot movie.

Yea, what I meant, but just wrote badly cause it was really late, was that he had been married to the actress who played Sha're. I thought they were married cause they had a kid together, but I guess not. I just mixed all my thoughts together and it didn't come out right. I find it interesting that the has kids with two of the people who worked on the show.

The marriage and the kids came before Lexa Doig got the part though. Apparently she auditioned for the part because they didn't want the fact that she was his wife to have anything to do with it. I think it's interesting that her character was supposed to have a thing with Mitchell. This is why I love commentary so much. You get to learn these little things.

Speaking of commentaries, I wish that they had it for the first three seasons but one of the things that I like most about the whole franchise is that they have commentary on every single episode from season four through ten. Except for Threads. Which sucks.

I saw The First Commandment today!

I know he's insane and everything, but Jonas was quite like Jack - it appears that Sam has a certain taste in men.

Jack: Carter? I want you to take Conner back through the Stargate, report to General Hammond what's happened here.
Sam: No, sir.
Jack: No, Sir?
Sam: If you are going after Captain Hanson, I should go with you, I can get to him.
Jack: Look, Captain, either were bringing him back to face a court- marshal, or not. I think we both no what the 'not' means.
Sam: I know him, Colonel.
Jack: Yeah, that would be the problem.
Sam: I gave him back the ring because I know him. I know how he thinks, how he operates.
Jack: How he likes to play god?
Sam: Look, I don't understand how that could happen, any more then you do, but if SG-1 is going after him then I am going with you.
Conner: Wait a minute, you, you, you can't do that, there hundreds, probably thousands of them. H-he's their god. They'll die for him, they'll kill for him in a heartbeat.
Jack: That's not your problem, now I need someone to report back to the General, and that is you.
Conner: No, sir.
Jack: *incredulous* No sir? Does it say Colonel anywhere on my uniform?

I love it when people don't follow Colonel Jack O'Neill's orders.

He always has a funny retort.

There were a lot of 'Wizard of Oz' references in this episode - "We're off to see the Wizard!" "To Oz!" and "So, any indigenous lions, tigers or bears I should lie awake worrying about?"

I also loved when Daniel asked Teal'c to smile to comfort the Cave dwellar.

Daniel: No! It's okay! He's friendly, he's a friend. Smile, look friendly.

Jack: You're going to have to work on that a little bit.

My favorite part of that whole episode was when Teal'c was drawing what the device should look like or something and the native guy was like "Nice drawing." in a totally genunine way. Especially since it looked like a child drew it.

I just discovered that my DVD set doesn't have the episodes in the order they were aired. It was really confusing at first, but then I looked up on Gateworld and it explained why.

Hi, I'm Spooky Spice, or you can call me Katie. I've been a Stargate fan for 2 years, since I asked my friend to lend me her DVDs. I had them for 3 months.

Now I own all the seasons.

My favorite character is Janet. [points to icon] My fave ship is Sam/Jack, and I also ship Daniel/Janet, Sam/Janet and Sam/Jack/Janet. (That one's a hoot!)

I don't really have a fave season, but I prefer the seasons before Daniel ascended and Jack took over. Tho I have no problem with Jonas or any of the others. And I am SO looking forward to Continuum!!!

And I'm in serious denial about Janet's death! And I dare you to tell me otherwise!!!

I saw Teryl Rothery at a convention a couple of months ago!

And that was the day that my best friend and I were eating in TGI Fridays and I went to the bathroom and when I came back he was gesturing frantically and pointing behind me and I was like "huh? What?"

and I turned around and Christopher Judge was RIGHT THERE!

Turns out he was having lunch there with Erick Avari.

I've never met anyone from Stargate, although I wish I could. Conventions are expensive though, and none are near my house. I'm jealous. Spooky Spice, I also LOVE Janet and can not believe they killed her off.
