Maybe they just didn't want to compete with Buffy & Angel so they decided to skip vampires all together?

See now, you bring up another good point. Any time you can see Tom Welling die, is a good show.

There is alot of silly humor in this show. At one point last Friday, Carl was trying to get at an itch on his back and resorts to "borrowing" Captain Page's artificial hand. He was not amused.
