but it seems pretty obvious that the source material is boring them now. Why else would they change so much?
I'm really saddened to admit to this - but I think this is true. Just goes to show they don't get the books. All they seemed to be interested in is the money rolling in.

Well, they loved the battle scenes and the sex scenes (many of them invented), and the murders and betrayals and beheadings.
In addition to the money and prestige, that is.

That includes the infamous scene with Littlefinger.

You know, if we don't hear anything about The Winds of Winter by the time New Year's rolls around, I might just be tempted to start calling the whole thing "A Dance with Deadlines".

good one, Northy! I know it's been pushed back several times, but do you know when GRRM is now saying he'll get it to the publisher?

Sadly, no I haven't heard anything. But I remember hearing that GRRM stopped booking appearances and decided not to do an episode in season 5 in order to pretty much lock himself up and force himself to write like mad. Of course, people are saying he should've done that in 2013 but...nothing that can really be done about that now.

I heard that much, too.
I know the man deserves his time in the spotlight, but he has risked losing fans of his books in favor of a TV series.
ASOIAF is the stuff Classics are made of and, if nothing else, he owes it to Posterity to get them finished.

Don't forget an award for time taken to write the series.

I think alot of fans are under the impression that just because GRRM knows where the story is headed he automatically would know how to put it on paper. I'm not saying he's a bd writer I mean ppl should just cut him some slack - it can't be easy perfecting a complex saga

I do agree, Asma. GRRM is a perfectionist and I wouldn't want him to be otherwise, even if it means we are waiting painfully long years between installments.
