S.A is South Australia. New South Wales is next to it. Left to right in order of states: W.A (my home), N.T (Northern territory - not a State, a 'Territory'), S.A (South Australia), Qld (Queensland) ,NSW, Vic and Tas (New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania) are all atop each other, although Tasmania is an island. As is Australia, largest island in the world and smallest continent in the world.

That Trivium track is better than the 3 Metallica tracks released! It was leaked 2 days ago from my house. I recorded the track and many other tracks from the JJJ free government radio station here in Oz. I am not joking. I only did it to record the Opeth special live in Melbourne concert from the last tour in 06 when I saw them live, you know me and my Opeth obsession!! I am seeing them and Virgin Black next week in concert! I recorded the Opeth bit for my own listening pleasure. I recorded the whole 3 hours of FMR because I didn't want to miss the Opeth bit! I listened to the Trivium track and liked it enough to make an MP3 out of it to give to my brother who loves that band then I thought others out there might appreciate hearing it too so I put it online to create a stir with fans to get them excited for the album when it comes out - I hope they buy it! Other people put it on YT from my recording.

It is some seriously good promotion for Trivium imo, the buzz for that new album of theirs is bigger than ever after I got that track on the web. I don't think it is a problem with copyright, it was recorded from a free-to-air radio station where Trivium themselves handed Andrew Haug the CD in person when they hosted HIS radio show last week - they must have known it might have made it online afterwards. I mean, many tv show pilots and pre-air episodes are leaked online by the actual owners of the show WB/Universal etc just to create a fan base or stir of interest. That is how I see YT and the radio copy of this track and anything similar to it that gets released online. A few minutes before Haugy aired the track he said 'Get your tape recorders ready for this' or something to that effect, so - I used my PC as a tape recorder. Besides, anyone worldwide is able to stream the show for the next week and rip the track themselves if they have the right software for capturing streaming internet music.

I have to say Clint... I find it HIGHLY amusing that you forgot to mention the A.C.T. (Australian Capital Territory).
Canberra is the capital of the ACT, and Canberra is also the Captial city of all of Australia

the ACT is within NSW

South Australia is also the driest state on the driest continent... go us! GIVE US MORE RAIN!

I was going to add ACT but couldn't be bothered. Well you will get rain next year or the year after if the WA trends follow as they have the last 8 years. We got the drought 2 years before any Eastern States got it, we are coming out of it this year so you will come out of your tail end of the drought in a year or two. I wish there was another referendum for WA to separate from the rest of Oz, 10 % of the nation's population lives in WA yet earns 1/2 of the total amount of earnings for the Ozzie economy and we pay more in tax to the Eastern States and get less back...not fair.

Secession! I love it....let's go. I'm also for Quebec seceding from Canada.

Thanks for the geography lesson. One day, I'll get to go to Oz....one day.

You like Opeth?! I never knew *cackle* j/k.
Yeah, it's a great bit o promotion. I also have to say that your free radio show sounds keen to me...they air live concerts over the radio?

In Oz they do sometimes, yet it was not live - we are in 2008, that concert was from the last tour here in 2006. Triple J is run by the Australian Government and is for the youth.

triple j : people : Andrew Haug

full metal racket on triple j

This broadcast is still able to be streamed and captured for the next 4 days to make a better quality version than I made using radio waves on my radio plugged into my capture card plugged into my old PC... Look at the playlists for each week... You will drool!! Do you have radio like that where you are?

We have some streaming stations, but not a lot. American Radio really sucks if you ask me.

I will agree that American radio sucks, especially morning shows.

So, our high temperature yesterday was 81 degrees Fahrenheit. Then I left work and went to the gym and a cold front was blowing in so it was windy and chilly. When I left the gym a cold rain had been added to the mix. By the time I got out of the grocery store and Blockbuster, there was sleet, snow, thunder, and lightning.

It's Cobra, and they're using the MASS device to demand cash from the leaders of the world. I know it.

Wacky weather is sort of normal around here. This time the cold was forecast but the precipitation was not. The sleet and snow didn't last - didn't even hit every place in town. The high yesterday was about 50 and we had mid-60s today, though we're still getting at or near freezing at night. While I do like to wear my sweaters, they're soft and comfy, I much prefer warmer temperatures.

BTW - December 12: National Poinsettia Day

So, we did the whole cold and wet thing for a few hours and then it got warm again. Then a new cold front blew in early yesterday morning (it had been 66 degrees during the 10 o'clock news Sunday night but never reached 40 on Monday) but this time no moisture, . I think it's suppose to be warm again by the weekend.

It's still a couple weeks away, but is anyone going to make a New Year's Resolution?

Not I.....at least not out loud. I always try to lose weight in the new year (how cliche, eh?) but it rarely ever works out.

This year, I'm just going to try and walk more in order to get exercise. Everything else will work on its own.

I'm already trying to lose weight (more successful on days that are not stressful, more about that later) so that can't be my resolution - well, I guess I could resolve to try harder on stressful days. Being constantly late is probably my biggest issue so something about that should be my resolution. And be a better housekeeper - unfortunately, I can't blame everything on the dogs and cats.

As for my stressful day, it was really more a stressful hour. There I was, minding my own business at work when we hear all the elevators suddenly head to the ground. Uh, oh. Then we hear a muted alarm. Great. Then the alarm on our floor followed by a garbled announcement. Mumble mumble, something about the 22nd floor and heading to the lobby. Nooooooo! Luckily it was after most of the employees had gone home so only about half a dozen of us had to walk down 18 flights of stairs. Turned out to be an electrical problem with one of the elevators (in the the group that goes to my floor, of course) and it stunk to high heaven. The fire department checked it out and pronounced it safe to re-enter the building so those of us who had to go back, for keys and other items or to do more work, did. We had to use the freight elevator to access my floor until they could determine which of the regular elevators were safe - which they did before I left.

I could resolve to show up to work on time....I'm sure my boss would like that some.

That sounds seriously stressful. Thankfully the only problems we ever have in our elevators are random droppage (say 10 feet at a time). But I don't think those have happened in a while.
