Believe it or not, no, not everyone does like CCR, though I find that as odd as you do.

Hrm, super hot summers, super cold winters....I think the human race is going to die from Pneumonia in the spring and fall.

Naw, Spring and Fall are for allergies.

We've already had 10 triple digit days and apparently that is our average for an entire year. I am suddenly afraid of July and August.

The good news is I figured out how the dogs were going through so much water. The container had a leak.

Whoop! The dogs will be much happier.

We've had more storms this year too....but the humidity is sooooo bad this year. I can't figure out why.

I'll be sticking inside more, I think.

The NBA finales where on TV? I hadn't even noticed, then again, I rarely watch network TV anymore.

Has your weather cooled down some? We slept with the windows open last night.

The NBA playoff series started on TNT (where it interfered with The Closer and Bones repeats) and then moved to ABC when it was down to the final two teams. It's not that I watch anything on ABC in the summer, it's just that sometimes other stations will assume everyone is watching the game and don't seem to care what they but up against it. Same thing happens for other "big" events.

As for the weather, let's see...
Today we tied a 90 year record at 103 degrees. It was also our 14th triple digit day so far this year. Also, at 10:00 p.m. it was still 92 degrees. All in all, I'd say, "No, it has not cooled down any."

Oh I hate it when stations do that....like when the Oscars are on...there's nothing else on TV when the Oscars are on, because we're all supposed to be watching the Oscars, right?

Doh! I'm sorry to hear that....I have a friend who's moving down to Dallas for a job....I quoted your 13 days of 100+, his face just blanked. I told him to enjoy it.

The 4th was the same as most years. Stay at home watching television, reading books, and get the dogs into the house before neighbors start in on the firecrackers and other noisy celebrations.

No fireworks for you?

We drove to Rockford Il to see some friends. Didn't get to see too many fireworks, the trees have apparently grown too large.

No fireworks for me. About 15 or so years a go I visited a friend for the 4th and some of us went to a riverbed to shoot off a few but it was pretty boring. Then the cops showed up. I'll stick to watching them on TV or from my office whenever I have company.

So, I finally mowed my yard again yesterday and while most of it was normal, there was one section in the back that was like 3 feet tall and my mower was having trouble with it so I brought out the weed whacker to try to tame it. That sort of worked, but mostly made a shorter, denser pile of grass. That'll teach me to wait so long. Of course, then I watered last night so the whole process can start over.
