Twilight isn't about vampires, it's about teenagers with sharp teeth.
Vampires don't "sparkle" in the sun: they screech in horror, burst into flame and wither to ash.

Since one of the co-authors of the series is deceased, I'm pretty sure there will be no more volumes. The three titles are (in order):Bring Me the Head of Prince Charming

I like the titles, are they parodies of fairy tales?

Yes and no. Basically, each book involves a contest between the forces of good and evil to control the world. In the first, evil uses messed up fairy tales as its entry in the contest. In the second, well, I've never read it so I'm a little unclear on what each side is doing. In the third, evil puts on a "morality play" while good tries to shut it down. I've seen a couple of reviews for the first book and they're not that great although I recall enjoying it when I read it 15 or so years ago.

Age specific? Do you mean the age of the reader or the age (Bronze age, middle ages, etc.) in which the contest takes place?

age of the reader. Some books, like A wrinkle in time are for young crowds but still good for adults. Other's don't translate well.

I wouldn't classify it as a book for young crowds and there is nothing to indicate these books were written for kids or young adults. Heck, the second word in the first book is "bastards" but I don't recall a whole lot of swearing. Then again, it has been a while since I read the first book.

Oops, I just discovered that the second author passed away in 2005.

That is a good place to stop. I wonder who ever thought that up, that a trilogy is the nice "round" number.

So there is a book topic thread here.

Recently I found The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury. I was a fan of Fherenheit 451 and since I like sci-fi I thought this would be a good read. Any thoughts?

I also picked up The Grays by Whitley Strieber. I had heard some good reviews on this one and I know they didn't have it back in town so I was real surprised to see it at the university bookstore. I'm on the early pages (like around page 6 or so) but all ready I'm finding it to be interesting.

While I have never actually read Fahrenheit 451, I have listed to an unabridged tape of the book read by the author. I've heard of The Martian Chronicles and will probably try to read it one day.

I've read something by Strieber but I can't think of the title. Pretty sure it had something to do with the incident in Roswell, NM.

So basically, I can't offer any thoughts.

I always thought of 451 as a different spin on 1980, perhaps a bit more pessimistic.
