Sci Ficitions shows

Has anyone noticed that they cannot seem to put on a good scifi show anymore? They keep putting on silly stuff that has no plot and the motivations are even fuzzier. The sci fi movies are a little better though. I liked Darklight and Thought Crimes looks good also. Frankenstein was dumb. Neither made any sense or was worth watching.

Are you talking about the USA Network Frankenstein movie?

I didn't get to see it, what was it about?

Part of it is that people are so finicky about scifi....no one will just take crap anymore, not when you have quality like Farscape.

Twilight isn't about vampires, it's about teenagers with sharp teeth.
Vampires don't "sparkle" in the sun: they screech in horror, burst into flame and wither to ash.

Yes, it had Parker Posey in it. It did not make too much sense to me. From what I gather, Parker played a police detective who was investigating crusome crimes that Frankenstein was also interested in. The person doing it was someone similar to Frankenstein. Again, the movie made little sense. I like Parker Posey though.

Heh, you always like to throw that one up, eh, sum1?

Parker Posey is freaking hot. I can't wait to see her in the new blade movie.

Until somebody does the right thing and makes that godawful excuse for a show illegal.

Last night I watched on USA network a scifi movie with Navi Narat (Dana the Vampire Slayer on "Angel") called Though Crimes. It was good and she was also very good in it.

Well, we won't say that...whether any likes to accept it or not, it's a heavy hitting show, and it's just a nother long wrong show that's going down, with not much else to take it's place.

You won't say it, but I sure will. Far as I'm concerned, stuff like that gives sf a bad name. Peope think "What's tv sf? Oh yeah, it's crap like Stargate, guess none of it's worth paying any attention. So I'll ignore Babylon 5, Roswell, etc".

It never should have left Showtime.

I don't think Stargate's the greatest sci-fi show I've ever seen, but I don't really understand the hatred. If nothing else, it's worth watching because it's made in Vancouver

Actually, my uncle worked on it for a while, and there have been several local people on it I know or recognize. There was even an ep that took place in my neighbourhood ... apparently there's an alien vessel in a shipyard on the river near here

I don't understand how anybody can watch it. It's unbearable. Totally fake, totally plastic, feelingless, 100% crap acting (even from good actors), overdone flashy tasteless crap that would have been out-of date half a cenutury ago, corny hyper-cliched brainless nonsense, drifiting dead-spirited vibe, annoyingly self-satisfied and self-congratulatory... and it's so obviously just a cynical attempt to rake in the cash, with zero heart and zero spirit. I find it genuinely unwatchable and it's really bothered me when I've seen it. It makes me want to scream.

And who cares about a planet called Adidas, anyway?
