I don't know about "best", especially on rainy days. The female, who happens to have longish, white fur, always seems to find the muddiest spot to lay down. The last couple of times I've let them in the house after it's rained I've met them at the door with a towel to clean their paws. They don't seem to like that much.

Heh, my dogs hated it, especially the female....she had chow'ish type fur, so mud just stuck in there.....thankfully we had linolium in the kitchen.

The really weird thing about Maggie's fur? Although she looked hideous, and stank to high heaven when I let her in the house last night (it had been raining earlier), by the time I woke up this morning she was white again. I don't know how she does it.

Poor Duke has another tumor and has to have another operation.

Doh! Is he a lab?

Well, while you're sleeping, she takes the coat off, and uses your washer and dryer.

He's part lab. He's already had his spleen removed because it was basically one big cancer. He's also got a mass slowly regrowing on his left hind leg and about a half dozen fatty cysts. Poor guy.

Too bad Maggie couldn't get the pink dye off her neck along with the mud. Her collar bled a little during the last rain. Hopefully the groomer can get it all out tomorrow.

Yeah, my sister had a pair of labs, and they both had to be put down because of the tumors. I think one of them had 23 tumors in her. Very sad. Apparenlty Labs are very susceptible to these cysts.

Doh...was the groomer able to get it out?

Most of the pink came out. New, however, were the rust colored spots on her head. They washed out with dish soap but I wasn't real happy about it.

So, where can I submit a request for it to stop raining?

How did she get rust spots in her head?

The same place I want to submit a request to start raining....we're short like 2 inches, and my garden is noticing.

Never figured out the source of the rust colored spots on her head. Maybe the kennel she was in had some rusty spots and she bumped her head on them?

I cannot escape the rain it seems. I was out of town, in a whole other state many, many miles away and it rained pretty much every day. I come home, there is flooding and more rain. If I could send half of it your way, I would.

Heh, we just got done with a huge bought of rain. I need it to stop, though, so I can stain/seal my deck. I don't want it to fall apart.

We're getting more rain right now. And there's an 80% chance it will rain again tomorrow. Should make for some soggy fireworks.

Are you sure you two aren't living in New South Wales in Australia..we've had the most crappy weather the last couple of weeks, rain, wind, floods and more wind.

Well, we got no rain yesterday. everyone north of us did, but not us.

It rained yesterday though it was in the morning so the evening fireworks still happened in Austin. Some of the surrounding communities canceled or postponed theirs.

We've got another Flash Flood Warning all day today.

We had a severe storm on the 4th, but it blew over in like 15 minutes.

We've had nothing since, but they're promising some tonight.
