What do you want to see as a tv show/movie? And why? __________________ "Brainy is the new sexy" Vote Sherlock | |||

| My most loved series I wouldn't want to remember in any other way than how I know them already. In my minds eye. It's tough, as to see them alive in film or TV would be brilliant but I have the characters already and I have the way they look and interact in my head. To see them another way would almost annoy me I think. It's the dilemma everyone goes through when their favourite book series is made into TV or a Film. There's the hesitation to see it created as someone else wants to see it. Sometimes it works out very well (Lord of the Rings) sometimes it falls flat (Earthsea) and ruins the books. It gives people the idea that if that was the interpretation of the books then the books can't be that good either... __________________ "Nobody's perfect. But sometimes it does further or re-kindle interest in the story (see: LoTR, and, to a lesser degree, Chronicles of Narnia), which isn't a bad thing. So it is a dilemma. __________________ This is my confession, I need your heart In this depression, I need your heart | |||

| I'd have to say I didn't enjoy the movie version of the Chronicles of Narnia. This is a perfect example of how people see things differently. The adaptation I love is the BBC version that was released when I was a kid. Fantastic and beautifully made. My favourite fantasy story is The Elenium and The Tamuli series. It would lend itself marvelously to a TV series but I would be so worried that the relationships that creep through the story would be ignored, or the subtle humour... or that the only focus would be on the massive battles. All these little worries. But then if I was to make the show, script it, etc then I'm sure that someone else out there would say "But they should have done it this way!" Complete dilemma!! __________________ "Nobody's perfect. Well, there was this one guy, but we killed him...." — Christopher Moore (Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal) | |||
