Pushing Daisies #2: A touch of magic, mystery, and romance.

Plot: From Bryan Fuller ("Heroes") and Barry Sonnenfeld ("Men in Black") comes an unprecedented blend of romance, crime procedural and high-concept fantasy in a forensic fairytale about a young man with a very special gift. Once upon a time, a mild-mannered boy named Ned realized he could touch dead things and bring them back to life. Grown-up Ned puts his ability to good use, not only touching dead fruit and making it ripe with everlasting flavor, but working with an investigator to crack murder cases by asking the deceased to name their killers. But the tale gets complicated, as all tales do, when Ned brings his childhood sweetheart, Chuck, back from the dead and keeps her alive. Chuck encourages him to use his power to help others, instead of merely solving mysteries and collecting the rewards. Life would be perfect for Ned and Chuck, except for one cruel twist: If he ever touches her again, she'll go back to being dead, this time for good.

Cast:
Lee Pace: Ned
Anna Friel: Chuck
Chi McBride: Emerson
Kristin Chenoweth: Olive
Swoosie Kurtz: Lily
Ellen Greene: Vivian
Jim Dale: Narrator

TFTNT

hmm when you think about it this show is quite sad at the start - in the first 5 minutes the dog dies, his mother, Chuck's father, & then Ned's mother again. All wrapped up in pretty colours :sigh: I forgot how amazing the colouring of this show is

Olive  honestly I don't know how she doesn't get more suspicious of things. Like why does Ned have a dog if he's 'allergic'? :P I get that she's attracted to him & that is what the scene is about but personally I'd want to question that not just continue questioning if Ned touches the dog/things

The ending of the Pilot was so pretty. I love the colors on the show. It is quite depressing/sad in the beginning, especially knowing he saw those deaths when he was still a kid.

I love Olive!

the pilot made me fall in love with the show instantly

I don't remember when I first saw the pilot. It wasn't the first ep I saw of the show, I started watching towards the end of S1 & I think I might have watched all of S2 before seeing the start of S1. But when I did start it didn't take much for me to fall in love  :sigh:

I'd imagine most episodes would make people fall in love, not just the pilot.
