Haven't seen the most recent episode, but I've often felt that the sex scenes are there just because it's not a network show. Sure, some of the scenes are necessary to show the depth of their feeling for each other, but with others I'd rather they use the time to advance the story.

I've just seen the latest episode. I had to wait for a time when I was alone to watch. I have to say I never expected the sex to go on so long! It must have been most of the episode. It took sooo long even for them to get undressed, and frankly it was dull. It was a shame really.

I've watched now and agree that the sex scenes were far too prolonged.

Fergus and Claire's reunion was cute. Claire and Willowby seemed to hit if off okay.

It didn't make sense to me that Jamie didn't tell Claire that his room was above a brothel before just taking her there.

I like me some eye candy, but I agree that the length of the intimate scenes in this episode was a bit over the top. I would have preferred some plot progression, though the team at Outlander know how much we'll all have been looking forward to the reunion episode...

Welcome to the thread and board!

I was looking forward to the episode, and to their sexual reunion, but I really would have preferred more plot. This episode was great when they were taking time over talking to each other, it was good they didn't rush those scenes. But I didn't think the lengthy sex scene did add very much, and reminded me of the parts of season one which annoyed me.
