I do do that, I mean I don't have a set time I have to be up, but I am up at 8am daily sometimes earlier, and if I don't sleep, I'm up at 6am.

hm. maybe you'll need to exhaust yourself then regularly.

You know, I had severe insomnia for years, like not sleeping at all for nights in a row and what sorted it to almost perfect was having 3 kids. Too exhausted not to sleep!

I know how that is!

I've even gotten on my exercise bike to tire myself out, showered and then gone to bed, and still wide awake.

It seems like every few months I have bouts like this, and I don't know why.

What might work for some to get them to sleep could do the complete opposite for others. Not fun!

yeah, it's like that with exercise. Can work both ways, it can get your body too worked up to sleep too.

It could have been that the shower I take after 'wakes' me too but I'm not going to bed sweaty...so...

I'm actually supposed to be working but the baby I'm minding is pretty easy, he just plays about himself as I watch

yeah! Sometimes it is a nightmare, mainly when there are more around.

It's worse when you get kids that have clashing personalities or some are spoiled and don't know how to share!

oh, absolutely! It's usually the ones that are only child. When I hear they have no siblings, I know there's trouble!

it annoys me endlessly how entitled they feel to everything, as if coming from Buckingham Palace, or worse

I have an only child and I hope he's not spoiled.

When I used to babysit, I found two boys in particular would really feed off each other's energy when they were together. Either of them on their own playing with my son were fine, but get all three of them together ... and I knew I needed to keep a close eye on them.
