Not even the slightest bit. It's just the title gets me every time I hear it in the lyrics.

'Cause he ROCKS!!!

So, the other day a friend's son had his 8th birthday and I was trying to find a gift on toysrus.com and got a little distracted. There are so many LOTR games and toys I don't have.

Games? Like board games, or video games? I always thought about getting that strategy game they put out.

Mostly board games, IIRC. I may have one of the strategy games. Maybe I can find the energy this long weekend to tackle a few of the unpacked boxes still in my garage. Stranger things have happened.

I take back what I said about LOTR board games at toysrus.com. I just looked again and there are only 2. The rest are games for Game Boy, Playstation, and PC. They've also got the 1978 animated The Hobbit on DVD.

I've seen that, but I've seen it at Walmart for like 9.88. I'm waiting for it to go on sale again.

TK, what time of day/night do you suggest I start watching my LotR-FotR/LotR-TTT/LotR-RotK marathon?

It's a little over 13 hours (if you have the extended cuts) so if you don't mind staying up late, I say 10'ish is a good time.

When the theatrical version of ROTK was first released on DVD, a couple friends came over to my house, we ordered pizza (I had a few other snacks and beverages available to complete the menu), and we had our own marathon starting at about 10 a.m. We went with the extended versions of the first two installments even though I only had the theatrical release for the third. I think it's high time we did that again, with the extended versions of all three movies, of course. IIRC, FOTR ext. is about 3.5 hours, TT ext. is about 3.75, and ROTK ext. is about 4.25 hours. That would be about 11.5 hours total - not counting potty breaks.

I was close, according to the listing on barnesandnoble.com, all three extended versions come to 11:21:00.

Yup yup yup....that's why I said 13 hours, gives you eating time, potty breaks, walking time, calling people time and all that good stuff.

We did it when the ROTK EE version came out, me and some cousins. I'd do it again, but I don't think the 5 year old would sit through it this time.

I intend to sit there eat, drink and urinate when is needed with the movies playing one after the other, non-stop. No actual breaks.
