I watched a trailer for it on Hulu but have never seen the show. How long did it run?

It had 5 seasons, I'm not sure when exactly it aired

5? Really? I had no idea it ran so long!

Yeah it was cancelled after s5. Such a shame to cancel an excellent show like this

Actually, 5 seasons is a very long run in this day & age. By that point, the writers and actors are wishing to move on to other projects and, as often happens, fans begin to lose interest, too.
That's just the way of it.

I don't mean to say all those things specifically applied to Merlin, but some of it probably did.

I know what you're saying, shows usually burn out after s2, but I definitely enjoyed all of the seasons of Merlin. And besides the ending was rushed, they obviously counted on s6, but never got it

The death of Arthur must've cast a pall over everything, huh?

Yeah, it was the final episode of the show

Well no wonder everyone is still in mourning for it!

I always thought Arthur was a fairly old man when he died. The show must've had him die much younger?

Yeah, this is why everyone got so frustrated. Arthur wasn't supposed to die thay young.

Now even *I* am depressed and angry about it.
