And I could always go for some nice Arthur/Merlin/Gwen/Morgana. Although I have dirty bad thoughts about some nice evil awesomeness of Morgana/Uther.

And I completely agree, Uther nor Gaius should die till the end. Because it's not just about who they will become but how they become the legends. Without the fathers the dynamics would change to much, their still to raw to be king and true magician.

Oh wow I can't even BEGIN to wrap my head around this! I practically had tears rolling down my face all the way through! Such an epic and emotional episode

Especially when Anthony Head started crying I could hardly keep it together that was SO sad, when he broke down with Arthur still in his arms in the middle of the square.

And I loved Arthur/Gwen this episode the scene when he was unconscious was so touching, and the scene where he confronted her with it was adorable

But oh, Merlin/Arthur the length those two will go through for each other...

And that scene with Morgana/Gwen in the beginning was so so sweet too

Morgana is slowly starting to creep me out a little bit, in a good way. I love how her powers are slowly surfacing. And that scene where she freaked out to Arthur in the beginning and didn't want him to go was also SO powerful... Yeah, good episode for shipping once again

Also, I think "For the love of Camelot" is my new favourite thing to say I'll be using it in a "Oh for the love of Camelot" sort of way from now on

And uh yeah. HOW THE HELL AM I GOING TO SURVIVE THE NEXT YEAR WITHOUT THIS SHOW?

Anthony Head was so amazing in this episode and then that Gwen/Arthur part. So awesome.

But what really had me in tears was the goodbye between Merlin and Arthur. The way they said goodbye without ever saying it just broke my heart.

But! Badass!Merlin was awesome in the end when he finished off Nimueh.

I agree about Morgana too. She's starting to become creepy but in a good way. I loved the way she behaved. I think she truly loves Arthur, be that as a brother or something more, I don't care.

Oh, and does anyone else feel some antipathy towards that dragon?

Brilliant finale, it lived up to my expectations completely.

Colin Morgan was amazing this episode, I'm so glad he finally got chance to show off his acting abilities and not just his adorkableness because there's been a few Arthur centric episodes but never really Merlin centric he's always been the outsider perspective but never really had a proper story in his own right.
I knew how amazing Anthony Head is but he killed me with his grieving, and that makes me want more Uther, please show?

I love Arthur/Gwen not quite at Merlin/Arthur levels but it's quite clear the show ships both so it's fine by me!

On a more shallow note, angry!Merlin is hot! also wet!Merlin they really did spoil me.

Please somebody tell me Nimue didn't die. Otherwise I'll hate Merlin until the end of the show. Seriously, though, Nimue is like one of the most important characters, she can't die.

Merlin is so amazing! My friends think I'm crazy because I talk about a show that doesn't even air in the US so they have no clue what I'm talking about or why I love it so much. Though I was happy to read that it might be airing on NBC coming in Jan. so I can get them all hooked on it.

I'm hoping they didn't really kill Nimueh off; which is possible. Of course the more I think about it with the big spectical they made of it, I'm thinking they might have.

With these kinds of shows, it's always possible for characters to come back I feel, especially with Nimueh because she has such strong magical powers and in a lot of Arthurian Legend stories she does feature later on, so you never know.

I do feel that killing her was an integral point in Merlin's development though - having her come back to life won't change the importance of it but I do feel it would be more powerful if she did stay dead.

But yeah, if I have to go with my gut feeling, I suspect we'll probably see her again.

I don't think she's completely gone. The storm probably 'took her' and sooner or later she'll 'rain down' and become the Lady of the Lake.

I would be shocked if Nimueh was gone permanently, there's more they can do with her, and her last scene just didn't seem right for the big bad of the series which she is.

Yeah, I hope she's not dead. She's too powerful to be killed by Merlin(at this age).
