Life on Mars (UK) Appreciation #1: Because there's Life on Mars

Welcome to the 1st Life on Mars (UK) Appreciation thread

Life on Mars tells the fictional story of Sam Tyler (John Simm), a police officer in service with the Greater Manchester Police. After being hit by a car in 2006, Tyler awakes in 1973 and finds himself working for the predecessor of the GMP, the Manchester and Salford Police at the same station and location as in 2006. Early on in the series, it becomes apparent to Tyler that he awakes as a Detective Inspector, one rank lower than his 2006 rank of Detective Chief Inspector. As part of the CID, Tyler finds himself working under the command of Gene Hunt (Philip Glenister).

Aww, Life on Mars This show is made of win, thanks to the incredible John Simm Though it wouldn't be the same without PG, I have to admit.

I loved LOM. John and Phil made such a great on screen duo, ably supported by Liz, Dean and Marshall. A great show I could watch time and again.

Absolutely

It has such a wonderful mix of awesome characters, great storylines, great cast and the setting in the 70's is wonderfully underlined by the OST...

I think I need to do a re-watch

Yes i'm watching the British one. Had seen random episodes now and then but not from the begining, much better when you see it from the start.

I tried watching the US pilot but i thought it was crap.
