| After only reading five, I think my favorite book so far is Temple of the Winds. There was a lot of Kahlan and Cara in that, and they are my two favorite characters (in that order). I just finished Soul of the Fire yesterday, and I was a bit disgruntled. I adore TG's way of introducing new and interesting characters each book, but the pacing was awful. Richard and Kahlan disappeared for 180 pages at one point! And they disappeared again for nearly as long! That's excessive. Also, it felt kind of anticlimactic to me. I liked the bit where Richard saves the day (I don't think that's a spoiler - he does that in every book, right?), but I was disappointed with Kahlan completely losing her voice towards the end of the book. She had such great inner dialogues in the beginning, and then TG completely gives that up towards the end, even though he had a perfect opportunity to bring out a strong, poignant characterization of her. I'd rather have Kahlan than the secondary characters, but maybe that's just me . . . Anyways, I'm looking forward to starting Faith of the Fallen.  Jen, you're blowing through the books! (I had to stop myself from buying Pillars today in a used bookstore, because I'd already picked up five other books and I haven't even read FotF yet. ) | |||

|  You have no idea! I'm almost done with Phantom now hahaha I'm kind of dreading finishing the series because then it means the story is over. | As you progress in the stories I started to love a lot of the characters that I previously hated. | Oh, cool! I have to leave soon, but is it Sister Alessandra? She's just been introduced at the end of book five, but nothing's been done with her yet. And I'm intrigued by her presence, especially since she and Ann are together. | |||
