I agree! They've become who they are because of their past; there's a story there. And people can change, but not all 'good' people make the best decisions anyway...

I love it when it's done CORRECTLY!
With Sylar, I felt it wasn't. I think even when a fan asked ZQ about it during Season 4 he spoke out on it.

You can't go for a redemption and then keep kill in the process.
With Sylar it was steps forward and 1000 steps back. He gets redeemed... he kills Elle.
He gets redeemed, he slices Claire head opened.
He gets redeemed, he carelessly kills Nathan.............................

That's not how you do a redemption story.

most villains don't get redemption immediately right, they have to try many times before it sticks, if it ever does.
