Read today that Harry Potter & the deathly Hallows (part 1) is supposed to be out on November 17 over here, November 19 in UK and the US (weird much?).

I didn't really like the Harry Potter movies. Love the books, though they became a bit too teen-angsty for me in the end.

That's the way I see it too.

But I still love the books.

That's how I see it with the films.
The more there are, the more teeny they get.
So much for growing up.

I still couldn't bring myself to re-read the last 2 books Even if that's most likely due to the fact that I was (and am) so disappointed with the last book

Yeah, it sometimes feels like they are going back to their childhood days than growing up into adults...

The books are always going to be more important than the films for me.

I like to enjoy the movies for what they are and just separate them from the books. It's why I never re-read beforehand.

I think that's a good plan While I was quite happy with how the did things in the first movies, I found myself wondering what was going on in the later ones. Not so much because they changed the storyline, but because everyone sees the world of Harry Potter differently and has his/her own ideas of how things have to look etc

Thanks for the heads-up on the new movie, Dan Guess the hype will start again soon.

That's normally the best thing to do. Or not reading them, if haven't yet, or expecting the book on film.

Though the first three were pretty close.
