Greatest Sci-Fi/Fantasy Death Scenes Discussion #1

Well, while I don't think it qualifies as "the greatest" Capt Jack dying did make an impact. We didn't know what was going to happen and honestly, I really did think that Captain Jack had bitten the dust. Which made me sad, because I like Capt. Jack quite a bit. "The Doctor Dances" was one of my favorite eps from CE's season as the doctor.

Anyhew- I will agree with the idea that resurrecting a character does lessen the emotional resonance of killing them I like that Stargate hasn't tried to bring back Selmac/Jacob, Kawalsky, Lantash/Martouf or Lil' Doc. It made Friday's episode that much better.

I will give props where props are due.

I was rewatching tHighlander: The Series pilot and the finale came up, and so had to watch. The reminder of how the show started, and then the ending was a sad moment for two old friends.

A lot of fun memories, especially since the USA was a fairly new channel with the expanding of cable tv.

Spock's death was very powerful. But I liked Kirk's death in the new movie series as well.

To me, one of the worst death scenes was Wash at the end of Serenity. It was totally gratuitous and contributed nothing to the storyline.
