Greatest Sci-Fi/Fantasy Death Scenes Discussion #1
Well, while I don't think it qualifies as "the greatest" Capt Jack dying did make an impact. We didn't know what was going to happen and honestly, I really did think that Captain Jack had bitten the dust. Which made me sad, because I like Capt. Jack quite a bit. "The Doctor Dances" was one of my favorite eps from CE's season as the doctor.
Anyhew- I will agree with the idea that resurrecting a character does lessen the emotional resonance of killing them I like that Stargate hasn't tried to bring back Selmac/Jacob, Kawalsky, Lantash/Martouf or Lil' Doc. It made Friday's episode that much better. I will give props where props are due. |
Since I'm currently watching, here's one:
| The Most Powerful Emotional Fight Between Two Scotland Warriors Conner an Duncan MacCloud The Real Honor of Fighting. :bawl: :bawl: |
I remember that..

I was rewatching tHighlander: The Series pilot and the finale came up, and so had to watch. The reminder of how the show started, and then the ending was a sad moment for two old friends.
A lot of fun memories, especially since the USA was a fairly new channel with the expanding of cable tv. |
I rewatched some not long ago as well

I definitely had a huge crush on him!

How about Spock in Wrath of Khan? The I have been, and always shall be, your friend. was such a powerful scene.

I do like Kirk's version in the new universe too. |
 it was a terrific scene and a nice tribute to TOS
|
Spock's death was very powerful. But I liked Kirk's death in the new movie series as well.
|
 It was very well done.

To me, one of the worst death scenes was Wash at the end of Serenity. It was totally gratuitous and contributed nothing to the storyline.
|
 I was so upset they killed him off.
