I have yet to see a bad review of 1408. They all pretty much agree that every horror cliche is used, but done in such a way as to be worthwhile. Then again, what do critics know?

That's Sad about Missy. Reaper is so far off of the rest of the programing for the CW that I fear it'll get cancelled. There's no room on Thursdays, arelady.

Horrible idea. As is the whole prequel idea. Trek has done enough prequeling, now it's time to move on with the story. It's going to be a waste of a Trek movie.

A remake of The Andromeda Strain? I like the original just fine, even if Jane Fonda was in it...

I agree with you fully sum1.

They should make an Andromeda silver screen movie.

Not sure what movie you're thinking of, John Crichton, but Jane Fonda was not in The Andromeda Strain.

No body here can know how pleased I am that there's a second XFiles moving coming along. I only hope that Carter proves up to the task

Oh yeah, I was thinking of 'The China Syndrome'. Even so, I still hope they stay true to the actual original Andromeda Strain, I still only have the VHS of both of these movies...

Have you ever read the book The Andromeda Strain? If yes, how closely does the original movie follow the book?

I have never read the book either but I remember watching the original Andromeda Strain before I knew who Michael Crichton was. The original was filmed during that 70s sci-fi era, so there was a lot of funky camera close-ups/edits and blaring musical score horns. I wouldn't mind seeing an updated version. I'm not keen on the casting but I like that it will be produced by Ridley & Tony Scott.
