from a longer article about various castings:
Quote:
Meanwhile, fanboys will be heartened to learn that Hounsou is joining forces with Dynamite Entertainment to produce and star in a big-screen adventure about a key character in the Conan the Barbarian and Krull comicbooks.

The erstwhile Gladiator star will essay the role of the powerful necromancer Thulsa Doom (played in 1982's Conan the Barbarian by James Earl Jones). Dynamite plans to publish a new comic book based on the character next year, and the new film is expected to delve into Doom's early years as a flawed hero before sinking into villainy.

Even if you did miss something, I don't think we'd ever know.

Thulsa Doom! Rock!

Here's a big one that I saw from this weekend:

The Real Tr2n Trailer: Tron 2 Trailer Video Makes Pants Wet Worldwide

Also, we're getting a new Red Sonja, Robert Rodriguez directing and Rose McGowan to star.

Marvin the Martian? Really?

Did you see that Tim Burton is doing Alice in Wonderland, and they're hinting that Johnny Depp is to play the Mad Hatter?

You got something against Marvin the Martian or just think the movie will be bad?

I knew someone was working on an Alice in Wonderland movie but didn't know any details. If Depp is going to be the Mad Hatter, what character is Helena Bonham Carter going to be? Queen of Hearts?

Woo....or will she voice someone. I can't think of many female characters from the book.

As for Marvin, nothing personal, I'm just having flashbacks of Space Jam.

Colin Firth signs on to "Dorian Gray" - Yahoo! News

DVD news from tvguide.com:
Quote:
Birds of Prey: The Complete Series — Another overdue (and underrated) treat, this short-lived WB series about the crime-fighting daughter of Batman and Catwoman is actually cooler now than when nobody watched it back in 2002. As opposed to the awesome Dark Knight, this one feels like the comic book it's based on, down to the campy dialogue and color-saturated sets. And Dina Meyer as the wheelchair-bound ex-Batgirl Barbara Gordon is just damn fine, you know?

Question: I am trying to find out more information on this series called Legend of the Seeker. It is produced by the same folks who did Xena and Hercules. It is supposed to air November 1, but I cannot find on what station. I would appreciate any information you can give me on this. — Marie B.
Matt Roush: This swords-and-sorcery fantasy series was originally titled Wizard's First Rule, and is based on Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series. Like Xena and Hercules back in the day, the newly christened Legend of the Seeker is airing in national syndication, not as part of a network feed, so you'll have to check your local listings (available on tvguide.com, naturally) closer to the airdate to find what station in your market is running the two-hour premiere on the weekend of Nov. 1.
