I just started watching Ghost Hunters on Wednesday nights for past month and am addicted. Not sure if you all are familiar with the light house episode, but that one has been the creepiest one by far. Do you know of one creepier? I am going to order all the seasons thru Netflix, maybe someone can recommend one?

I never really got into Ghost Hunters...there are some episodes that just seemed hoaky and make you wonder if they're faking the whole thing....too much reality if you ask me.

Question: Welcome back from your vacation. I have missed your column while you were away. I know you're not really into spoilers, but I was just wondering whether you have viewed J.J. Abrams' Fringe yet. I watched the pilot today, and I just wanted to hear your thoughts on it. Being an Alias lover, I adored it. That being said, it was slightly predictable in certain parts (the "for example" omitted for spoiler reasons). Despite that fact, I think this show has a great future, especially with the commericial-lite gimmick. What do you think? — Amanda

Matt Roush: Your analogy to Alias is a good one. That's the show I most thought about while recently screening the Fringe pilot in a visit to Fox's offices — a very cloak and dagger process, because the network has yet to send screeners to critics in fear of more incidents of it leaking onto the Internet, which is where I gather you saw it. Anyway, I won't go into a detailed review here — too early, and I'd like to see a final cut when it gets closer to the September launch date — but my initial reaction was quite positive, and had me thinking and hoping that if Fringe is lucky and given the opportunity, it could grow into a cult phenom like Alias or even The X-Files, a show it resembles even more. The premise is a little too murky and the trappings a bit too sci-fi for me to predict that it will explode out of the gates the way Lost did. But wouldn't it be nice?

I can't say that I'm pleased, reading that list...a little more diversity might have been nicer...

I'm really curious to see how they integrate this returned footage back into Metropolis. I remember seeing the Moroder version which I hated because of the tinting and pop soundtrack.

Currently I think the most complete version was a restoration done by Kino in 2001?

Wooo, I'll have to wait to read the articles, I don't want to get accidentally spoiled about HB2 before I go see it tonight.

Thx for the link Dukesmom. If you haven't read Marc's blog post about Mike's passing, it's very touching. It was also quite big of him considering the bad blood between he and Mike.

Fringe: The New X-Files? - Today's News: Our Take | TVGuide.com

and from a different article also at tvguide.com:
Quote:
Matt and Mickey here at the TCA press tour. Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly has taken the stage to field questions.
...
• First discussing Fringe, Reilly says that Fox was hot to work with J.J. Abrams, and thus offered him a series "on Day 1." Pegging Fringe as "X-Files meets Indiana Jones," Reilly says, "Sometimes with these big show runners, it's all hype and no delivery.... This one is going to bring the goods."
...
• Reilly says he has seen "no skittishness" in Dollhouse creator Joss Whedon in the wake of his struggle with Fox on Firefly: "I thought, No way is that guy coming back." But he has really enjoyed working with him. "That is a guy who has earned his reputation."

JJ had a quote, and I'm trying to remember where it was, maybe aicn.com, but he's going to be very involved in the series. It should be interested. I still have the pilot episode to watch, I need to since I keep hearing such good things.
