I haven't deserted, I just got really paranoid about Serenity spoilers (even on the Firefly thread) since it's another month before we get it here. So I'm gonna stay away from this thread and the Serenity thread for a while; but I'll be back on November 10th. Hope you're all doing well!

I would just like to say that I love Jayne and that he has a bad rep and that he really isn't as bad as everyone makes him out to be.

Yes, he's still bad, I dispute not that but I do dispute that there's nothing to him but guns and muscles

When I write my rambling analysis(which I will get around to soon I hope) I will express this

Sorry was just watching some of the Firefly DVD's and I had to get that out.

I'll agree with you. I'm sure if the series had gone on, we would have gotten a lot more Jayne-depth. 'Jaynestown' is a good Jayne episode, cause you kind of see a better said to him. And there are moments throughout the series that make you stop and think: 'Aw, Jayne does care.'

Y'know, I always thought that River and Jayne had a weird chemistry between them. I am forever saddened that we didn't get to see more of Summer Glau and Adam Baldwin together in scenes. They just had this not shippery thing, but I dunno, some sort of weird chemistry. Like they either understood each other on some level or were so far apart that they weren't actually all that far apart.

I dunno, maybe I'm hallucinating it.

No I see no hallucination. Because well I'm a definite River/Jayne shipper. But even if they never hook up I would love some more interaction because they do understand each other. They are very similar in a way.

Yup, I agree. I would have loved some more scenes between Jayne and River. You know, it's sad because there were just a hand full of episodes and a somewhat larger then normal cast. That meant a lot of characters hardly ever interacted. River's scenes were mostly with Simon or Kaylee. Jayne's were mostly with Mal and Zoe.

Being a fan of both characters and a noted shipper, I would have liked to see River and Jayne interact more. Because, while all the cast had amazing chemistry, there was just something there with Adam and Summer and I would have loved to see that explored.
