Extant, on CBS, is an American science fiction television drama series created by Mickey Fisher and executive produced by Steven Spielberg. The story revolves around astronaut Molly Woods (Halle Berry) who returns home to her family inexplicably pregnant after 13 months in outer space on a solo mission.

Season 1 begins with Molly’s return and explores her struggles as she tries to reconnect with her husband and son, a robot, in their everyday life. Her experiences in space and home lead to events that ultimately will change the course of human history.

The show is now in its second season with new additions to the cast including Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Hilarie Burton.

There are mysteries to be solved and suspense that will leave you wondering and wanting more. It also portrays the bond of family and friends. Who Molly can and cannot trust becomes clouded. Can she even be trusted? What happened to her in outer space?

Something just feels off with the second season to me so far, I think a lot of the cast from last season vanishing without an explanation is a part of it. So far the first season was better, I hope S2 picks up but it's only the second episode. Hopefully they find their groove.

^Yes, I'm wondering that too! Half of their cast seems to have just disappeared. Hopefully there will be some explanation.
