Carnivale Appreciation #2: Because S2's almost over, and we're already missing it!
 Yay! Shiny new thread! Welcome everyone. So Carnivale is on HBO on Sunday nights at 10pm EST and it stars Clea Duvall, Nick Stahl, and a number of other amazingly talented actors. The 2nd season finale is on March 27th, 2005 and we are almost certain that there will be a season 3. Well, let's start our banter  __________________

I was looking up literary criticism for my critical paper on The Portrait of a Lady today, and found an article by "H. Scudder."
 Hee. Last night's episode was great. My favorite part was probably the baptism scene. It was all sunny and seemingly innocent, with pretty background music, but all along you knew that it was very, very wrong that Justin was baptising these people. And then Eleanor floating up...! Iris is kickass. Loooooved her leaving the hatchet on Justin's bed and then insisting she didn't know where it came from. Also love her hiring the carnivale!! The last scene with those 2 was awesome. I think Sofie will side with Ben when it comes down to it. She's getting freaked out by Justin (and rightly so.) I also really liked the scene where he tried to seduce her over to the dark side. With the thunder and the flashing lights...whew. That is a scary man. Everytime I see Jonesy running around with his leg all better I just get happy.  Best line was Stumpy: "You're going to have to get over him sooner or later." I know he's kind of a douchebag, but I love Stumpy. |

Ugh god, Lila reminds me of my aunt. Always trying to start trouble with everyone.
I can't wait for next week. The big battle between Ben and Justin is finally going to happen. I was really sicken when Justin attempted to kiss Sofie. Let her alone Captain Incest! __________________

I think Im going to make a sandwich, sit down, and watch the last 3 episodes of S1. I think I earned it ... I have had no time to really do anything today, and I'm basically in for the night.

I think the finale is in 2 weeks, either way this season was great...silly me, I didn't record any eppy this season.

I watched Hot & Bothered and it was great! Wow ... all the sex ...
The scene where Brother Justin gets baptised ... that was just ... chilling. 2 to go! and then I can start S2. __________________

I can't believe there's only ONE ep left
I'm a bit disappointed by the end of the season. I loved the Justin/Sophie and Balthus/Iris scenes. That's my fav part of the show. I hope that Ben will heal Balthus cause It's a bit boring that after Appy we have a second vegetable body...  |
