The Cape #1: Suit up. Fight Back!

WELCOME TO

THREAD

From the visionary team of Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun comes an imaginative adventure about a dad who would do anything to protect his family.

Officer Vince Faraday was a good cop trying to clean up a corrupt city. Framed for murder and left for dead, he suddenly found himself separated from his wife and son and forced into hiding. Now, inspired by his son's favorite comic book hero, he's taking the law into his own hands, and playing a deadly game of chess with the powerful kingpin who framed him. With the hope of one day reuniting with his family, The Cape is sending a loud message to all criminals... run.

Everyone needs to let me know how this show is! Maybe I'll eventually check it out for Summer Glau and James Frain!

i watched the first half hour, could NOT get into it. haha. So, I wont be watching.

The plot was just moving too fast for me, and i thought it was really weird. and i didnt think the acting was great either. oh well, gave it a chance!

I DVRed it and watched it during my workout. I loved it! I officially have a new show.

I love Faraday, Fleming, Orwell, Max, Rollo...so many, which is rare for me. lol And I feel kinda bad since Vince is married, but I completely ship him with Orwell. The moment htey met, they stole my heart! And omg, when they both saved each other, gah!

I'm not a girl who's into the bad boys; I prefer the geeks. But when it comes to comis, I love the villains as well as the superheroes. I love Fleming and Faraday, sfm - both pwn! I love Jame Frain [he was so great as Forney in Where the Heart Is and loved him as Paul on 24]. David Lyons also pretty great. I kept drooling over both of them.

I can't wait until next week!

OMG I love it ! I wasn't bored for a second, this is the kind of show I love. What a surprise from NBC. The music, the characters, the acting, amazing! The perfect mix of reality and fantasy, not to mention the comic book atmosphere . I'm completely sold. Also love the Circus, it adds a lot, the best parts were there. The training was so fun to watch, and the chemistry between Vince and the Circus characters is really good. Max is a badass . By the way, I love the comedy, it comes naturally and when it's necessary for the show.

I really liked Vince's wife, but the whole "awww perfect happy family" scenes were a bit too much for me. And if a duo has promising chemistry, it's Vince and Orwell . This show has strong female characters.

I freaking love Orwell already, she's so awesome, sexy, smart, sneaky, guuuh . There wasn't enough of her, and I don't want her to be just a sidekick . But let's see.

I liked that the plot moved fast, I need a show that gives answers fast sometimes. The flow of the whole thing was perfect.

But anyway, loved the 2 episodes, so much potential, great villains and great mythology. Can't wait for more .

I really like this show and got into pretty quickly. Orwell is s my favorite character so far but I do like Faraday. James Frain rules at playing villian characters. Did a good job in True Blood and I think he will do good on this show.

Totally agree with you, especially about getting into the show quickly. I thought I would need both episodes to get hooked, but actually it was 20 minutes .

Chess is brilliant .

I just went to Spoiler TV to see if there was any new stuff and there's a poll about the episode. It just got me upset. I can't believe how many critics wannabes are there . I can't believe the level of nitpicking , people just can't sit and enjoy anymore, God. Anyway, let the wannabes suck at trying, IDGAF and I love the show.

Okay I officially have a new favorite superhero now!

Vince Faraday

David had me sold from the second he came up on screen. I was heartbroken for his family of course (though like most of you I am quickly abord the Faraday/Orwell ship ). The training was badass too especially when he left the carnies.

Peter Fleming

There are so many bad guys on this show but I must say Chess is my favorite so far. I always love those storylines when the bad guys pretend to be good with the city but hidden beneath the mask is their evil ways.

Orwell

I have always been a fan of Summer Glau so I was thrilled when I found out she was coming out on this. She certainly did not disappoint. She was badass both as the blogger, the sidekick, and the fighter. I was on the edge of my seat when she went up against Poison.

Max Malini & The Carnies

Definately a new twist to those who train superheroes, these ones turned out to be crooks and lowlifes but I was sold on the story. LOL and the twist with death was hilarious. Seriously thought he was gonna die for a second and I was heartbroken because I didn't want him to die and then sure enough he didn't.

Final Thoughts

Love all the elements to this. It has a kind of dark crusader/Batman thing to it and then you've got the whole 'Dark Angel' thing going with Orwell much like Dark Angel had Eyes Only.

I had no idea this was gonna be two hours but I stuck around for every second. I had been waiting for this show for over a year and it certainly did not disappoint!

No, it's good, Heleen. Very few people voted for awful and poor. It was just the wannabe critics that upset me. But they're like two people, so meh .

I got that vibe too. Totally reminded me of Dark Knight meets Dark Angel. I think The Cape will be one my favorite superheroes too.

So are any of you hoping that they start making actual comics/graphic novels for The Cape? Watching the episode and seeing the comics Vince read to Trip; I so badly wanted them too!

Hey everyone, so I have made some icons from the opening credits if anyone's interested. Once I get the episodes I'll be capping and making more icons.
