The first two episodes aired last night. I just wanted to know if any one else tuned in and found the premise entertaining.

I thought it was okay. Parts of it are cheesy, so I need to watch a few more eps to see if I really like it or not. I am a little irked by the age gap between the two leads...1971 vs. 1984? A little weird to watch. I know he's supposed to be over 5 hundreds years old or whatever, but still...

I know I agree with you. The show shows room for improvment though and I'm sure by the time it gets it's legs under it, 5 or 6 episodes in, it will be much better. He does seem a little young for her, but at least she recognizes that, "Robbing the cradle if she is seen with him, even though he is over 400 years old".

I on;y found out about the show yesterday, I'm looking forward to checking out. I'm slightly wary of doing so. I've heard comparisons to Buffy and Angel, which if done right can be good so hopefully it doesn't turn out to be a total rip off.

I watched this earlier today (yay for DVR). I really enjoyed it, though it was a bit slow and cheesy at times. But it's only the beginning. That and I love cheesy stuff, so Looking forward to more.

Plus Kyle Schmid is hot. His character Henry is definitely one of my favorite parts of the show, besides the whole supernatural.

And I do have to say I'm interested in the books now.

Saw it and enjoyed it. I remember Christina Cox from the old series F/X and a couple of guest appearances on SG-1. The creepy guy looked familiar, but I haven't bothered to figure out why. Based on looks alone I would take either Mike or Henry (who cares about age as long as everyone is legal? ).

I agree, both are very good looking. And to the cheesy part who doesn't love a little cheese on their show? I liked the first two episodes, I thought that they outlined the story well and the action scenes were well done. There were several funny lines of dialogue as well. I think if the show can keep the balance between all the different genres it is juggling that it should be pretty successful. And so I plan to watch to watch it next week and see how they do with zombies!

I agree there was a little cheesiness but i love that. And i just love Vicki, she reminded me of Buffy in that scene where that punk in the club tries to stop her from going outside when she found out Henry had left with those guys.

Yeah she really did and when she and Henry attacked that demon at the skate park I was totally expecting her to go running in and kick butt, then I remembered she doesn't have any superhuman powers, but it didn't even matter because like a second later she ran in and started pummeling on him anyway to save Henry.

I have unintentially gotten someone else interested in this show. The co-worker I always lend my copy of The Dresden Files to decided to see what else was on the tape this past week and she saw part of Blood Ties and got a little hooked. We'll see if she succombs again next week.

Ok I got hooked, I was going to bed at four in the morning and had turned off my laptop, but was still flicking through the tv. I stopped on Lifetime, and it said "Go to iTunes now to get the first episode of Blood Ties free" and I was like AHHHHHH. So I turned my laptop on and ended up watching the entire thing.

I am hooked.

Yeah it was a little awkward, but that was ok, it's a first start, and OH MY GOD was I impressed with Kyle Schmid. Soo hot. And I like that there is an age difference. Because usually it would be an older man, with a younger girl, a la Buffy. It's nice to see a woman put in that position of power, even though he is technically older than her.

But he is hoooot. His smile is to die for.
