Fawzi Falih is a Saudi Arabian woman who faces execution by beheading because she's accused of being a witch. It is said that the police beat her before forcing her to put her fingerprint (she's illiterate) to a false confession. Saudi courts often fail to follow due process and Human Rights Watch claim that is the case here. It seems her lawyers weren't even allowed in the courtroom. Human Rights Watch says the trial didn't live up to Saudi Arabia's own standards. Human Rights Watch say she was never given the opportunity to prove her innocence. Her only hope now is if the king pardons her.

Meanwhile, the accusations against her include a man accusing her of making him impotent with her magic.

Guilty for being a witch though, in and of itself, seems to me to be a pretty funny thing to be guilty of.

It wasn't so long ago a woman was jailed there after getting gang raped.

Yeah, that country is just really stupid and ignorant.

There are a lot of women there in jail for being raped or killed by their father or brother because they have "harmed" their family. Usually the brother and/or father never get a sentence because they honor the family name and it's allowed there to do whatever it takes to honor your family's name.

Thanks for that link. I haven't heard anything about it and the whole situation in Saudi Arabia just makes me sick concerning women. How can they justify things like this in the present day?
