Woman Charged With Having Sex With 8-Year-Old 'Boyfriend'

(11/08/04 - BRIDGEPORT, CT) — A woman faces charges of having a sexual relationship with an 8-year-old boy whom investigators said she considers her boyfriend.

Tammy Imre, 29, was arrested Friday and charged with sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. A judge set bond at $250,000 Monday.

Police began investigating in September after the boy's mother discovered a letter Imre had written him, in which she tells the boy she doesn't "want anyone but you."
She continued: "Now tomorrow it's supposed to rain, you can come over we can (you know what)."

Police said the boy, the playmate of Imre's 7-year-old daughter, initially denied doing anything with Imre because he feared getting into trouble. He later admitted having sexual relations with her.

Police said Imre told investigators she plans to marry the boy someday.

If convicted, Imre could serve more than 20 years in prison. A trial date has not been set.

Second. I think that this woman has some *serious* mental problems. And yes, all child molestors have mental problems but I think the majority understand what they are doing. The fact that she honestly thought she was going to marry him?

Ok, maybe if the kid had been like 14-15 I could see her claiming to love and want to marry him (then again, I don't really consider an older woman sleeping with a 15 year old children molestation....at least not on the same level) but 8? That's just messed up.

Yes, she clearly has mental/emotional problems, not only because of the abuse itself, but because she thought they were a romantic couple ... *shudder*

Anyone think this is kind of like the Mary Kay L. situation? Too me it seems even more sick considering the boy is only 8, granted doing the same thing with a 12 year is sick also. Mary Kay L. also thought of the 12 year old as her boyfriend and thought she would one day marry him. Last I heard Mary and the boy are engaged. How sick is that? Yuck.

I highly doubt an 8 year understands a romantic relationship. That's like, what? 1st grade? I really don't think that's possible. Physically he might have been able to but I'm sure the relationship was one sided.
