I can't.

If you're dead set on catching something on tape, you keep the camera on it, get it on tape. And then, later, you show the tape.

You don't waste three minutes of air time showing a bridge where nothing's going on while filling air with platitudes only to lose your mind when the bridge is blown up the second you look away.

Did none of these people spend any time in journalism school?

It certainly would have.

The other thing that taping and airing later would have accomplished? It would have demonstrated a modicum of professionalism from this new organization.

Watching a bridge collapsing live doesn't really do that, for me anyway.

I mean, there is nothing about it that is massively significant. I'm not saying I'm wishing it, but maybe if it had been collapsing with people still on it... That would have been news-worthy.

This is nothing. It's demolition. It's not even an important or significant or easily recognizable bridge, is it?
